'Our Hearts Are Broken': Baby Lyssa Chapman Mourns Death of Her Grandmother Grace Catherine Worthington
In a recent Instagram post, Baby Lyssa Chapman remembered the life of her grandmother, Grace Catherine Worthington, who had died at 90 while surrounded by family. The death of Baby Lyssa's grandmother comes after her family suffered the passing of her sister as well.
Born on May 1, 1933, in Vincennes, Indiana, Grace was 90 when she died on April 15, 2023. Two days ago, her granddaughter turned to Instagram to not only share the news of her passing but to share about Grace's legacy.
"After she retired, she helped raise many of her grandchildren. She loved getting family together for big meals, always burning the marshmallows on the yams on Thanksgiving and making impossibly delicious fudge at Christmas," Baby Lyssa revealed.
In the Instagram post, Baby Lyssa took a trip down memory lane and shared a series of pictures of her late grandmother, including an old photo of Grace wearing pearls and a beautiful smile. "Our hearts are broken. She will be missed," Baby Lyssa ended the lengthy caption.
Grace was the second youngest of 15 children and outlived most of her family. However, she was survived by Baby Lyssa and her two siblings. Baby Lyssa's mother, Lyssa Rae Brittain, was her famous father, Duane "Dog" Chapman's third wife. After marrying, Lyssa Rae and Duane welcomed their first, Barbra Katie Chapman, in June 1982.
However, in 2006, when Barbra was 23, she passed away in a car accident. "(Barbara) had gotten herself into a terrible mess. She was trying as hard as she could to put her life back together," her mother said. Following her passing, Barbra left behind her well-known family and young son.
A year after Barbra was born, Lyssa Rae gave birth to her and Duane's second child, their son Tucker Dee Chapman. Aside from his run-ins with the law and prison sentence, Tucker also had a strained relationship with his famous father. However, Duane said he held nothing against his son during an interview with Larry King.
On the brighter side of Baby Lyssa Chapman's life, the television personality can look forward to her first wedding anniversary after marrying her wife in Hawaii in June 2022. "It was literally a dream day. The best part is @leiana13 is my freaking WIFE !! I'm so happy, blessed, filled with love and gratitude. I never thought I was worthy or capable of this kind of love," Baby Lyssa shared.
