Williams was a teenager when he shot the famous sitcom. He grew up in public on "The Brady Bunch," which can be difficult for any teenager going through adolescence. The actor admitted:
"The years were very intense years for me. All my teen years, 14 to 20, were on The Brady Bunch."
Luckily, Williams worked with five other actors who starred as his siblings and were also going through adolescence and the uneasiness associated with the phase. He noted that the fact that they were many differentiated them from other child actors:
"Chief among them is there were six of us as opposed to one or two in the show. And that creates a whole different dynamic because it's not just the kid trying to figure it out."
Williams said the six of them helped each other navigate the attention and fame as people would come up to them and recognize them in public. He added that they helped each other through the workload, responsibilities, and changes in school and traveling.

The "Summertime Switch" star revealed that he and his cast went through lots of changes together, including changing voices and hair, as well as growth spurts:
"So, it was sometimes awkward and sometimes fun. But I've always enjoyed people watching the show."
According to the actor, going through these life changes together kept them close up to their adult and older years. He added that even as their children were graduating, the Brady family had always stayed connected. As Williams noted, the crew has definitely stayed in touch:
"We maintain our relationships, we've seen all the major events of our lives together: marriages, children, sometimes marriages that split."
