In June 2023, Katherine Schwarzenegger, 33, appeared on "The Nikki and Brie Show," where she spoke about growing up with Arnold Schwarzenegger as her father. She recalled realizing that her upbringing wasn't the same as most children her age.
The mother of two said she realized her life was different because Arnold would drop her off at school in a Hummer, with no windows, doors, or a roof.
The star would pull over and Katherine recalled being "mortified" hoping her father would just drop her off down the street instead. She remembers telling him:
"Please, I’m so embarrassed. Can we please just take the minivan?"
Eventually, Katherine embraced her father's fame once her classmates started becoming cool about it, and as she got older, the boys in her grade became fascinated by him.
That new development was something different for Katherine. Now that she is a parent herself, she's chosen to take some pages out of her father's parenting book by imitating some things he did.
How Katherine Parents Her Children the Same Way Her Parents Did
While on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" in February 2023, Katherine confessed that she wanted to raise her children the same way her parents did. For Katherine, who was raised with three other siblings — Patrick, Christina, and Christopher — it was vital to instill certain values in her children, sharing:
"For my husband [Chris Pratt] and I, it's really important to be able to just instill that sense of family and the importance around family."
Katherine, who shares daughter Lyla Maria, 2, and Eloise Christina, eight months, with her husband Chris Pratt, also believes in giving her children privacy while raising them to have "good values and faith." Family is very important to her.
Katherine is also a stepmother to her actor husband's son, Jack, 10, whom he had with his previous wife, Anna Faris.
Meanwhile, Arnold also loves being a grandfather to Katherine's little girls who visit him often. The former Governor of California is also quite proud of how his oldest daughter is handling her motherhood.

During her "Best Friend Energy" podcast interview, she spoke about her life as a mother and Maria's relationship with her granddaughters. She said her mother has so much fun with her little girls when she's with them.
At Lyla's age, the pair could now go off and do their own things together.
