Tom Cruise Bonds with Rarely-Seen Son at Recent Outing - He Ignored Daughter Suri for Years, Claims Report

Action movie legend Tom Cruise was spotted out with his son Connor. The father and son had a rare public outing and were joined by Cruise's sister, Lee Ann Mapother DeVette.

The family was spotted as they arrived at the AMC Movie Theater. This is after the "Top Gun" star had been busy promoting his upcoming film, "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One," set to be released on July 12, 2023.

The actor kept his outfit simple. He wore a black button-up shirt, with dark jeans and leather shoes. Cruise accessorized with a chunky silver watch and his go-to aviator sunglasses. Connor was also casual in a gray t-shirt paired with dark gray pants and white chunky sneakers. He also had a black backpack on him.

DeVette was the only one who wore a bit of color. The 63-year-old had on white jeans with a white button-up shirt. She added a pop of color with a bright pink jersey vest and white sneakers. She also let down her straight short hair and accessorized with a big black handbag.

Cruise and his son have made several appearances, one of them being front row at a Dodgers game in Los Angeles, California.

The actor shares Connor and his daughter Isabella with his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman. The former couple adopted their kids in 1992 and 1995, and after their divorce, Connor and Isabella stayed with their father.

Kidman has been private about her relationship with her son and daughter. However, the actress clarified that she would do anything for the well-being of her children.

She also revealed that her children decided to stay at their father's Scientology church. The "Big Little Lies" star said, "They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it is my job to love them."

As per Connor's Instagram, he seems interested in fishing and golfing. His sister keeps a low profile and is said to be living in London with her husband, Max Parker.

Besides his two older children, Cruise also shares his 17-year-old daughter, Suri, with his ex-wife Katie Holmes. However, it is reported that his relationship with his teenage daughter is estranged.

Cruise and Katie Holmes married in 2006 and went their separate ways in 2012. But according to reports, the actor has not seen his daughter in many years.

In 2012, when he was going through a defamation case against Bauer Media, he confessed that he had not seen his daughter in three months, shortly after he and Holmes finalized their divorce.

The "Mission Impossible" star does not speak much about why he does not have a relationship with Suri. But in 2013, he told lawyers, "Listen, when there is a divorce … things change. It is not an ideal scene. It is not an ideal situation."

Cruise has never been shy about his loyalty to his Scientology church, and throughout his career, the church has been reported to have come in between his romantic relationships.

During the $50 million lawsuit deposition, Cruise shared one of the reasons he and Holmes broke up. It was very rare for the actor to speak publicly about his private life.

However, in this case, he confessed that his Scientology religion played a role in the demise of his marriage with Holmes and why he does not have a relationship with Suri.

Cruise was asked if the "First Daughter" actress had left him because of the Scientology church, and he responded, "That was one of the assertions, yes."

According to reports, Scientology kept the father and daughter apart because of its strict rules that forbid members of the church from having a relationship with nonmembers.

Although the actor's statement to the lawyers sounded like Cruise was unhappy with the situation, a close source did not empathize with him. The insider said, "This is his loss, his issue, his problem. He must be really brainwashed."

Samantha Domingo, a former member of the Scientology church, attested to these speculations. Domingo said Cruise was "not allowed" to be in Suri's life because she was not part of the church.

In contrast, a church member said Domingo was wrong. The member said Scientology members were allowed to see their children, and that it was Cruise who chose not to see Suri.

Domingo did not go back on her word; she added that the situation was more complicated than it seemed. The former Scientologist explained that the church was big on reincarnation; therefore, "Suri’s not really his daughter — she's just a spiritual being in his daughter's body." added Domingo.

Even so, a spokesperson for the church said the claims were not true and that Domingo had completely misrepresented the values and practices of the Scientology church.
