Sports run in the veins of the Brady family, and Maya Brady is setting to rock the world of female softball. She's often compared to her famous uncle, the NFL living legend, but the young athlete takes more inspiration from her mother than the retired quarterback.

Her mother, Maureen Brady, was a one-time All-American college softball player and later became an all-time California prep pitcher. Therefore, each Brady family member gets their athletic talent from somewhere within.

Who are Maya Brady's Parents?

Maya Brady's parents are Brian Timmons and Maureen Brady. Unfortunately, they separated in 2010, so Maureen had to raise Maya and her younger sister, Hannah, as a single mother while juggling work to sustain them. Not much is known about Brian. but her uncle Tom Brady found a vital place in her heart. She said:

“I have a single mom, so I don’t really have that father figure in my life, but as I’ve grown older I’ve really gotten a lot closer with my Uncle Tommy. He’s taught me a lot about myself and what I should expect from others to treat me. He’s just taught me a lot about life."

However, Maya's biggest source of strength has been her mother. An athlete herself, Maureen was a pitcher for Fresno State University and competed in the junior Olympic team in high school.

Later, she became a nurse and a softball coach in their hometown of Bakersfield, California. Her hard-working spirit drove Maya to become such a strong softball player who doesn't want to ride the coattails of her famous uncle.

Maya Brady's Sports-Dedicated Family

The entire family loves sports, competition, and getting postgame snacks like most people in America. However, Maya feels pressure to be excellent. In an interview, she said:

"I feel pressure because I always want our family to be successful, more successful, you know than we already are. For me to set the bar for the next generation is an honor, but at the same time, a kind of pressure."

Fortunately, Maya has the support of her mother and her side of the family, no matter how hard a career in sports can be. Maureen acknowledges her daughter's extensive commitment to be at that level in softball and is proud of the young woman she has raised.

But things are different in sports now. "Now these kids, they have to train. We didn't train the way kids do now, hitting lessons, pitching lessons, working out every single day on top of regular practice out here. And then their schoolwork is much harder now, so it's a much bigger commitment," Maureen explained.

On top of the hard work, women don't get half the recognition or the rewards that men do. Maya's mother said:

"Whereas my brother makes a million dollars every football game, girls aren't going to do that, so the life lessons that you learn from being part of a team is what you take on for the rest of your life."

Maureen learned to support her child thanks to her parents, Galynn Patricia Brady and Tom Brady Sr., who were involved with all their children's athletic pursuits. Maya has shown them love on social media.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady, who has kids of his own, couldn't be prouder of his niece and has attended several games, including the one at Easton Stadium in 2022. He remarked:

"She is [an] amazing young woman. Competitive. Tough. Poised. Smart. Clutch."

The former quarterback also took to Twitter to retweet a video of Maya hitting her first long ball of the 2021 season and called her "the most dominant athlete in the Brady family...by far!"

With such an endorsement, people expect great things from Maya Brady, and she is working tirelessly to rise to the occasion and become one of the greatest in the game.
