'I'm Not Good': Bruce Willis' Wife Gets Emotional Revealing New Details about Taking Care of Sick Actor
- Bruce Willis was diagnosed with a less common type of dementia, forcing him to retire from acting early.
- Willis' wife, Emma Heming, confessed that she wasn't doing well as she takes care of the ailing actor.
- Heming recently celebrated the couple's wedding anniversary and explained why the special day was difficult for her.
Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming, has been taking care of the actor ever since his health and well-being were negatively affected. On March 2022, Willis' family announced that he was retiring because he had been diagnosed with aphasia.
Willis is a phenomenal actor who starred in several hit films such as "Die Hard," "Armageddon," "Pulp Fiction," and "The Sixth Sense." Since his diagnosis, fans see less of him, and his family strives to take care of him.

On February 16, 2023, Heming gave a health update to Willis fans and friends. She shared on an Instagram post that Willis' diagnosis of aphasia had progressed, and the doctor had given the family a more specific diagnosis called frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
Willis' general diagnosis, aphasia, causes damage to a part of a person's brain that controls communications. They then find it hard to communicate or understand others. In contrast, the actor's specific diagnosis, FTD, is a less common type of dementia that affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.
Ever since Willis' family made his diagnosis public, Heming has been open on social media in a bid to raise more awareness of this medical condition. She also shares how she and her family are fairing as they take care of the actor.
How Is Heming Fairing as She Cares for Willis?
Heming shared a message to her followers, who she said often assume she is so strong for taking care of Willis without breaking. However, the actor's wife confessed that she does her best because she has no choice.
However, she pointed out that the special day was also a sad one because normally Willis would acknowledge the event, but he can't because his brain is changing.
She added that some days are filled with grief and sadness. On the day Heming recorded the video, she was feeling waves of anguish and sorrow. She revealed that it was Willis' birthday and that she had started the day by crying.

In yet another video, Heming told followers that she was trying her best to take care of her kids and Bruce. She noted that even if her social media suggests she is living her best life, sometimes she has tough days that she has to strive to pull through:
"So I don't want it to be misconstrued that, like, I'm good. Because I'm not good. But I have to put my best foot forward for the sake of myself and my family."
Heming told fellow caregivers that she makes a conscious effort every single day to live the best life she can for the sake of her two kids and Willis, whom she believes would not want her to live life in any other way.
Willis' wife encouraged caregivers to share pictures of something positive with her to help her and other caregivers get through the gloom and doom that sometimes surrounds them and to help lift her spirits during this difficult time.
The mom of two thanked fans for their support and the positive messages that they sent her. Heming's video messages come months after she celebrated her and Willis' 14th wedding anniversary amidst his dementia diagnosis.
How Did Heming Celebrate Her and Willis' Wedding Anniversary?
Heming shared a photo of a bouquet on Instagram on March 21, 2023, as she marked 14 years of marriage to Willis, who she called the actor the "greatest love of my life." Heming said the flowers were an act of kindness from her friend, who gifted them to her for her and Willis' wedding anniversary.
However, she pointed out that the special day was also a sad one because normally Willis would acknowledge the event, but he can't because his brain is changing. Heming urged other people to be there for caregivers like her on such special days, like how her friend supported her.
On March 22, 2023, Heming also revealed that during their 10th anniversary, she and Willis decided to renew their vows. The couple exchanged their vows again in the same place they got married years before.
Heming, who urged people to seize every moment in their lives to celebrate with family and friends, is now grateful for the beautiful pockets of memories she created with Willis and their kids. She will hold these moments and keep them safe and alive for a lifetime.
