- Britney Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari, have separated over cheating allegations.
- Asghari has filed for divorce and demands that Spears change the terms of their prenup.
- The actor, who supported Spears during a mental health crisis, now threatens to reveal embarrassing details about the singer.
Britney Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari, have split up. A source said the pair are now separated after Asghari confronted Spears over rumors that she had cheated on him.
Currently, the rumors have no basis due to a lack of proof, but Asghari believed them, which led to a huge fight between the two. Now, 14 months after they tied the knot, the couple is determined to live separate lives.

An insider revealed that Asghari had moved out of the house where he lived with the singer and got a place of his own. However, even before the cheating rumors, the pair's marriage was in crisis. A source said Asghari wasn't sleeping in the house he shared with Spears.
On the few times Asghari was in their shared house, Spears allegedly often got physical with him, and the pair would get into shouting matches and blowout fights. Sources also said Asghari had long been over Spears' erratic behavior as much as the two often presented a united front.
On August 16, 2023, Asghari filed for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences and listed July 28, 2023, as the date of separation from Spears. On the same day, Spears was spotted without her wedding ring as she drove her white Mercedes Benz in Los Angeles.
What Does Asghari Demand from Spears?
Court documents show that Asghari wants Spears to give him spousal support and cover his attorney fees. The actor has hired a lawyer, Neal Hersh. Spears' attorney is Laura Wesser, a celeb divorce lawyer who represented Kim Kardashian, Kevin Coster, and Johnny Depp.
A source said Asghari had been Spears rock for years as he helped her eat and work out when she was depressed.
Spears also has an iron-clad prenup that protects her premarital assets, reportedly worth $60 million. However, a source revealed that Asghari has threatened to go public with "extraordinarily embarrassing information" if the singer refuses to renegotiate the prenup.
An insider said it is unlikely that Spears' prenup will be thrown out during the divorce negotiations. But it is highly likely the singer will write a check to Asghari, and that will be the end of his demands.
Asghari, who proposed to Spears in September 2021, is determined to get his way in the divorce negotiations and go beyond the prenup terms. He plans to use private information concerning Spears to have his demands met, which includes getting paid.
How Was Asghari's and Spears' Relationship?
The "Womanizer" singer and Asghari tied the knot in June 2022 after dating for five years. They started seeing each other in 2016 when Asghari got a gig on Spears' "Slumber Party" music video set.
Asghari and Spears seemed so in love as the actor publicly supported Spears throughout her conservatorship and post-conservatorship journey. He was beside her as she went through mental health treatment in 2019. Since they were first linked, the two have been inseparable.
