Tom Cruise May Reconnect With Daughter After 11 Years as He Allegedly Quit His Church for Her

• Hollywood star Tom Cruise has allegedly stopped attending his Scientology church for his daughter, Suri Cruise, and may have a chance to reconnect with her as a result.

Outside of being a well-known and hugely accomplished actor, Tom Cruise, 61, has been a longtime follower of the Church of Scientology. However, according to news outlets, Tom, who was also close friends with the religion's leader, has not appeared at the Scientology headquarters in East Grinstead, UK, for approximately three years.

News of him staying away from the location came at the same time the movie star was staying in the UK, filming the latest "Mission: Impossible" movie. Until recently, Tom would frequent the church on several occasions in his AS350 helicopter.

Reports of his drift away from his place of praise and worship started surfacing in July 2021. When news broke of Tom's absence from Scientology's headquarters, people began speculating about the possible reasons for doing so.

Some have claimed that he allegedly left because he seeks to rebuild his estranged relationship with his daughter, Suri Cruise, whom he shares with Katie Holmes. Following his divorce from Holmes in 2012, the "Dawson's Creek" star got full custody of Suri, who turned 17 a few months ago.

When it comes to the reason why the "Top Gun" talent has not seen or spent time with Suri since his divorce from her mother, Tom believes that Holmes did not want Suri involved with the religion. During the same discussion, when speaking of Scientology and its practices, he divulged:

"...If you're a Scientologist, you see life, things, the way they are, in all its glory, in all of its perplexity..."

Sources also speculate that Scientology was a strong reason for Holmes divorcing Tom. Suri's mom apparently wanted to escape the religion's influence on her family.

Not long after Holmes and Tom broke up, she enrolled Suri in a Catholic school. Concerning religious beliefs, Suri is in juxtaposition with her two older siblings, Isabella and Connor Cruise, whom Tom shares with his ex, Nicole Kidman, as they are invested in Scientology.

A few years ago, Isabella, who is also a fashion designer, opened up about her position as an auditor in the church of Scientology. As someone responsible for helping others in self-examination and discovery sessions, Isabella disclosed:

"This IS what I had been searching for...Suddenly, everything began to make sense...It's a few meltdowns and running to the bathroom to have a mini-episode, but it is worth everything because you will get through."

Isabella also credited her dad as one of the people who helped her find her way to the controversial religion. Since Tom's absence from the headquarters in the UK, many also wonder how this will affect his relationship with Isabella and Connor.

Outside of the speculation and controversy regarding his relationships with his children, when Holmes and Tom announced that they were expecting Suri, the then-father-to-be was extremely excited. He even went so far as to buy an ultrasound machine the former couple could use whenever they wanted to. When Suri was born, the doting dad gushed:

"It was everything we wanted it to be...It was spiritual...It was indescribable."

During the initial phases of her childhood, reports stated that the father-daughter duo had a solid bond until 2012. Though he remains legally bound to pay child support until Suri turns 18 next year, communication between the two has diminished over the years.

In 2018, sources reported that Tom had not seen Suri for years, not from a lack of access to her but from his decision not to do so. Apparently, the custody agreement in their divorce documents stipulated that the star could see Suri up to ten days a month.

However, since his split from Holmes, the father has missed many years of spending time with his daughter. This includes missing many milestones, like her 13th birthday when Tom was nowhere to be seen.

Although Tom may not be involved in Suri's life, he still loves her very much, and many predict a reunion between the two because of his staying away from the headquarters church.

Though Tom has not been seen at Scientology headquarters in the UK for some time, there is another Scientology building in central London that sources say he could be attending.
