Natasha Lyonne has always been suspicious about whether or not she would have children of her own one day. However, a psychic reportedly said that the Hollywood star at least had a daughter in her past life, now reincarnated as her dog.

Natasha Lyonne is an actress best known for her role in "Orange is the New Black," and at the time of writing, she was unmarried and without children. To the actress, the fact that women are expected to have children is "absurd."

However, after an experience similar to love at first sight with another person's dog, Natasha Lyonne unexpectedly learned she welcomed a child in another life and was reunited with her in this one.

A Psychic Told Natasha Lyonne Her Dog Is Her Daughter from Her Past Life

In 2014, Lyonne joked that she had dognapped her friend's brother's dog, Root Beer, after "the most real" love-at-first-sight experience with the four-legged animal. According to the actress, Root Beer jumped on her the first time they met.

The experience was so "real" that Lyonne sought a dog psychic, who told the actress that Root Beer was her daughter from her past life who tragically died. Lyonne shared:

"I mean... that is my daughter. Now I have to protect her. Here's the thing: there is no part of me that does not know this is madness. I know that. But this whole thing feels very real. But I really do think that Root Beer opened up a new emotional skill set that I didn't have before."

Natasha Lyonne Was Relieved When the Psychic Told Her She Wouldn't Have Children

In addition to telling Lyonne that Root Beer is her daughter that she needed to protect, the dog psychic informed the actress that she would not bear any children, something Lyonne admitted to always being suspicious of and relieved to hear.

During an interview, Lyonne revealed that while she admired her friends who had children, she found it problematic that people thought it strange for a woman of a certain age not to have a husband and kids.

Although Natasha Lyonne is straight, she has played multiple gay roles.

Lyonne was not only encouraged by the fact that she was aging, but she also maintained the stance that every 1 in 5,000 people should have a child — "To me, that would be statistically more sane," she said —and added:

"For women, children are always so deeply on the table in a way that, frankly, I think is absurd. I think that children should be the anomalies, that we're constantly in awe, like, 'Wait a minute. You had a child?'"

Years ago, Lyonne was introduced to her ex-boyfriend, Fred Armisen, and the pair began dating in 2014. They would split their time between her home in New York and his in Los Angeles, and they were together for nearly a decade.

However, in 2022, the actress revealed they had broken up due to a disagreement over a swimming pool. "I honestly think we broke up because I wanted a swimming pool. [...] It might seem like a mundane reason for a breakup, but during that pandemic, you’ve got to get your laps." she shared.

Lyonne is still unmarried, and the "Orange is the New Black" — co-starring Uzo Aduba and Laura Prepon — star has been focused on her career. Although Natasha Lyonne is straight, she has played multiple gay roles. "It seems like a lot of the female experience is in response to men. And when I play a lesbian character, it means that she's on her own ride," Lyonne shared.
