Years ago, the 36-year-old singer appeared as a contestant on the popular singing competition show "American Idol." At the time, Jane worked as an on-and-off waitress while caring for her son, Jackson Riley Santana.

Jackson, whom Jane shares with her ex-husband, Alex Santana, was born in Los Angeles in 2010 at 7 lbs., 11 oz, and 20 inches long. Sadly, Jackson's parents, who tied the knot discreetly, were not together for too long, and his mom filed for divorce from his father after eleven months, when he was just nine months old.

Jane cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for her filing, and the petition was filed on October 20, 2011. Fortunately, Jane had her loving father to lean on for support as the former couple worked out joint custody arrangements.

The following year, after Jane filed for divorce, the mama bear joined the cast of "American Idol." In her introductory video, the "Simple Beauty" artist gave some background information about herself. As Jane continued to speak about her life and career, a video clip showed a tender moment between Jane and her dad.

During the discussion, Jim gushed about the sweet relationship he shares with Jackson.
