Daniel Radcliffe has become a household name for his role as the spelling-casting young wizard from the magical world of Hogwarts in "Harry Potter." The actor was only 10 when he shot to fame, but fortunately, he did not have to navigate that world alone.

The actor's parents, mother Marcia Gresham and father Alan Radcliffe, were by their son's side every step of the way. And even though the actor grew up without siblings, he gained a brother following his time on "Harry Potter" in the form of his co-star.

Not only were the actor's parents there when he was picked for his breakout role, but they also supported their son along the way. Alan was on set and watched from the sidelines as his son recorded a scene in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

Marcia kept up with her son's role by reading more and more of J. K. Rowling's famous "Harry Potter" novels and told her son she saw more of him in his on-screen character and vice versa. Daniel humorously revealed:

"She read 'Half-Blood Prince,' and she did say, 'Harry has started to argue like you argue.'"

Daniel's time on "Harry Potter" eventually ended; however, according to reports, the actor credited his parents and staying in the UK for keeping him grounded.

Daniel added that his mom, dad, and "Harry Potter" castmates, including Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, gave him some much-needed perspective on his life and helped him during critical moments.

However, Alan and Marcia continued to support their famous son after "Harry Potter," as he revealed they were his surprising source of inspiration to get in shape for his shirtless scenes in "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story."

"My parents do CrossFit. They're in their sixties, and they're insanely fit people, so I've just got them to keep up with. They're just setting a crazy bar," Daniel said.

Daniel Radcliffe on His Hopes for His Children

In 2022, Daniel revealed that while there were a few perks to being a child star, he would not advise other young actors to take the same path. The "Harry Potter" star added that he also wanted his future children to avoid fame "at all costs" but still experience a taste of the film industry.

Daniel said, "I want my kids, if and when they exist...I would love them to be around film sets." Daniel Radcliffe later became a first-time father in April this year. He and his long-term partner, American actress Erin Darke, welcomed their first child in New York City.
