Jolie, with her heart set on adopting a healthy boy between ages 3 and 5, found Pax at the Tam Binh orphanage, the only child in the orphanage meeting her criteria.
Despite initial tears during their first encounter, Jolie's determination prevailed, and Pax was declared a Jolie-Pitt in March 2007, bestowed with the name Pax Thien, meaning "peaceful sky."

From Iron Beds to Hollywood
Jolie, in an interview, shared a glimpse into Pax's transformative journey. Spending 3 1/2 years in a room with 20 other children, confined to a little iron bed, he suddenly found himself in a world of freedom with new siblings and loving parents.
She also shared that he was learning English and embracing his newfound liberty, and also revealed that Pax emerged as a wild and free spirit, a tough and remarkable young person.
Pax became the younger brother to Maddox Chivan, who is also adopted, and an older sibling to Pitt and Jolie's adopted daughter, Zahara Marley. Shiloh Nouvel, Knox Leon, and Vivienne Marcheline, the couple's biological children, also joined the family.
Among the Jolie-Pitt children, Pax quickly became known as the one with a wild nature. Jolie affectionately described him as loving stuffed monkeys, detesting paparazzi, and often finding himself in trouble.

Father's Day 2020
The serenity reflected in Pax's name didn't shield him from expressing his discontent on Father's Day 2020. In a candid expression on his private Instagram account, he labeled Pitt a "terrible and despicable person," accusing him of causing constant fear among his four youngest siblings. The statement read:
"You time and time and again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person. You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence."
"You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell," he added. The heartfelt message ended with a poignant reminder that truth, no matter how concealed, has its way of emerging.

The strained relationship between Pax and Pitt became evident during the divorce battle between Pitt and Jolie following their split in 2016. Reports of an altercation between Pitt and his eldest son Maddox on a private jet added fuel to the already fiery situation. Pax's Instagram post, accompanied by a photo of Pitt receiving an Oscar, underscored the complexity of their relationship.

Recently, Pax's younger sister, Zahara, signaled a change by introducing herself without her father's name, Pitt. The subtle yet significant shift added another layer to the evolving dynamics within the Jolie-Pitt family.

A Father's Perspective
While the divorce has been acrimonious, Pitt has consistently spoken positively about fatherhood. In 2014, he emphasized his deep care for his children, stating that caring more for them than himself is the real definition of love. Despite the challenges, Pitt has remained committed to providing the best for his family.

In a 2017 interview, Pitt acknowledged the difficulties of the divorce, especially when visitation for the kids was uncertain. He shared the challenges of being caught in a system that seemed focused on building cases rather than finding resolutions. Pitt and Jolie, despite their differences, have strived to work together for the well-being of their children.
