Kirstie was an amazing mom to her kids. She opened up about her motherhood experience and her journey to become a mom. In 1990, the actress suffered a miscarriage when she was only three months pregnant. She recalled that she had joy in her life like she had never felt before when she learned she was pregnant. Sadly, the happiness didn't last.
The movie star opened up about her miscarriage in her 2005 book "How To Lose Your Ass and Regain Your Life: Reluctant Confessions of a Big-Butted Star." She wrote that the miscarriage "Is the one devastating thing that has happened to me in my life that took years to recover from."
The miscarriage ranked high in Kirstie's personal tragedy, especially since she convinced herself and her body that she hadn't lost her baby. Her body even produced milk at her nine-month mark. The trauma worsened when the actress was told she would never have kids. She began grieving, got fat, and had little hope for any future children.

Kirstie, who struggled a lot with her weight, noted that her kids had better body image perspectives than her. They ate good, healthy, and organic food and were physically active. The actress would tell them that if they wanted beauty and happiness, they'd have to be happy first and then be healthy.
