Renner has occasionally shared glimpses of his daughter on his social media accounts, but he has always avoided showing her face. He has posted photos and videos of them spending quality time together. However, in most of them, he blurred or covered her face with emojis and stickers or ensured that she wasn't facing the camera. Despite his efforts, there are a few times we have caught sight of her.

His fatherhood journey began on March 28, 2013, when the "Avengers" actor, then 42, welcomed his daughter Ava Berlin Renner into the world. The joyous news was shared with actress Eva Longoria at the Golden Globes, and it was reported that the new parents were "beyond thrilled."

Ava's parents, Renner and Sonni Pacheco, were married for ten months before they decided to part ways. They tied the knot in January 2014, almost a year after their daughter's birth, but separated in December of the same year.

By December 2015, when Ava was just two years old, their divorce was finalized. Despite their separation, they agreed on shared custody of Ava, ensuring that she would have both parents in her life.

In January 2023, Renner found himself in a grave situation. He was attempting to prevent his Pistenbully snow groomer, a snow-removal tractor, from sliding into his adult nephew when disaster struck.

As the tractor started to slide, Renner made a hasty exit from the vehicle, forgetting to set the emergency brake. The situation was further complicated by a non-functioning brake indicator light inside the snowcat's cab and possible mechanical issues. This led to Renner being tragically pulled under the vehicle and crushed.

A 911 call log, later obtained by CNN, painted a grim picture of his condition - he "had difficulty breathing, with the right side of his chest collapsed and upper torso crushed." Renner's nephew was quick to provide assistance until professional help arrived. Renner was subsequently airlifted to the hospital, where he spent more than two weeks.

His hospital stay involved multiple surgeries and intensive care unit treatment. The incident left Renner with over 30 broken bones. However, despite the severity of his injuries, Renner displayed an impressive level of resilience. In May, he posted a recovery update with a video of him exercising, expressing his determination to push through the pain of progress.

On New Year's Day 2024, exactly one year after the accident, Renner posted a heartwarming picture of his daughter hugging him tightly. The caption read, "Reason number One for my recovery is her. I asked her to 'wait for me' when I first saw her on January 14 as I arrived home. As I got better, she got better and less afraid. There is simply no better motivator to recover than to heal your family and friends. [sic]"

Renner's love for his daughter Ava is evident. In an episode of "Rennervations," he shared with his team, "The most important person in my life is my daughter. She makes me the best version of me. She inspires me to be better." This love was on display when Ava went as her dad's date for the 2017 Oscars.

Renner shared a cute picture where he was kneeling as they shared a kiss, captioning it: "My date for the Oscars!! Omg, I could not be more proud!" On the occasion of Ava's ninth birthday, Renner shared a tender moment from her infancy. The picture showed him cradling a sleeping Ava close to his chest.

His heartfelt caption read, "As you took your FIRST breath, gripping my finger tightly (palmers reflex), I instantly understood my directive in life as a father. That if I do right by you, we will be holding hands as I take my LAST breath. Happy Birthday to my number one."

The birth of Ava in 2013 marked a significant shift in Renner's life. His weekends were spent flying back and forth from London to L.A., often just to spend a few precious hours with Ava. This routine underscored the importance of setting boundaries and prioritizing his time with his daughter.

Renner was even prepared to risk his role with Marvel, presenting his producers with a choice - allow him his weekends with Ava or find someone else for his role. His words were firm, "Fine, recast me. I'm going to be here with my daughter." His steadfast determination bore fruit.

Renner now ensures that he gets to spend every weekend with Ava, regardless of his projects. If any producer objects, he simply declines the project. He takes joy in the simple pleasures of parenthood, like preparing her lunch and packing celery for her to feed the school rabbits.

When Ava was three, Renner revealed his intentions to keep her face hidden. He stated, "I still don't expose my baby's face, just to protect her or anyone in my family [who is] a minor. You don't need to be world-famous just because your dad is."

In March 2023, Ava embraced the role of a big sister when her mother, Pacheco, welcomed a baby girl, Wylder Rayne. Wylder is Pacheco's second child and her first with her partner, ice hockey player, Nate Thompson. Pacheco introduced her baby girl to the world via Instagram while celebrating her 35th birthday, just two days after the baby's arrival.
