Brendan Fraser is a producer and actor. He has over 70 acting credits and is famously known for his role as Rick O'Connell in "The Mummy" movie franchise. His other famous roles are Mo in "Inkheart," and Trevor Anderson in "Journey to the Center of the Earth."
Brendan started his career in the early 1990s, and by the end of that decade, he had starred in several box office success movies. As his professional life took off, so did his personal life. In 1998, the actor married the actress Afton Smith.

Afton and Brendan starred together in "George of the Jungle." They acted alongside Holland Taylor, Leslie Mann, Thomas Haden Church, Richard Roundtree, Kelly Miracco, Greg Cruttwell, John Cleese, and others. The couple welcomed three children: Griffin, Holden, and Leland.
Sadly, after almost a decade together, their publicist, Ina Treciokas, announced the end of their union in December 2007. In the statement shared, Ina noted that their marriage was over, but their friendship was not.

They settled their divorce by February 2009. However, Brendan and Afton were back in the news four years later. The actor had informed the court in February 2013 that he was no longer earning enough to pay the annual $900,000 in alimony and child support.
He wanted the court to reduce the amount, but his ex-wife fought back. In August 2013, she accused him of lying. She claimed he made money from the movies he had starred in then. He starred in "Extraordinary Measures" with Keri Russell and Harrison Ford and "Furry Vengeance" with Brooke Shields, Eugene Cordero, Ricky Garcia, and others.

While dealing with the emotional strain of his divorce in the late 2000s, Brendan was also dealing with health challenges. Years of performing stunts took a significant toll on his body. This toll began to show in 2008 while filming "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor." He said, "By the time I did the third Mummy picture in China, I was put together with tape and ice."

He had suffered multiple injuries throughout his career and needed a laminectomy. Sadly, they had to repeat the procedure a year later because his lumbar didn't take. Within a decade from this time, Brendan had multiple surgeries. They included partially replacing his knee, repairing his vocal cords, and compressing his spinal pads.

With all these struggles, the actor gradually stepped out of the limelight. His retreat was worsened by his experience with Philip Berk, a former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The duo had an encounter in the summer of 2003.
While Philip made light of the issue they had, Brendan noted that it made him feel withdrawn. It also made him wonder if the association blacklisted him as they rarely invited him to the Golden Globes after 2003.

The actor even moved houses amid his troubles. By 2018, he lived near a Bedford, New York horse farm. On the farm, he has a horse named Pecas. He got the horse in 2015 after meeting the horse on set in Mexico.
He had seen other horses taunt Pecase without Pecas fighting back. So, Brendan said he had a job for Pecas. He wanted Pecas to care for Griffin Fraser, who was on the autism spectrum.

Brendan remarked, "There's something good that happens between the two of them. And even if he doesn't ride him, just give him a brush. The horse loves it, the repetitive motion that kids on the spectrum have that they love. And it just works."
Although Brendan would still travel for work, he makes time for Pecas. Additionally, even though his sons live with their mother in Connecticut, they often spend time at their dad's place.

After almost a decade since his divorce, Brendan found love again. While there is no information on when they started dating, Brendan made his red carpet-debut with Jeanne Moore in September 2022. The couple attended the 79th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.
Jeanne graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing from California State University, Fullerton. She has also studied as a makeup and special FX makeup artist.
