In a November 2020 interview, George's longtime pal and producing partner, Grant Heslov, who has known him since the '80s, divulged how the A-list star's life had changed since meeting Amal. "I literally have never seen him happier," said Grant at the time.

Reportedly, George is so smitten with Amal that he tends to talk a lot about her without being asked about her. In the same interview with Grant, George revealed how he felt about being a bachelor before meeting Amal. On this, he disclosed, "I was like, 'I'm never getting married. I'm not gonna have kids.'"

The movie star expressed that he was content with his life as an eligible bachelor before meeting his wife. Even his career was enough for him and he decided to focus on that because he was doing well.

George had convinced himself that his life was complete because he had a fulfilling job and great friends. However, he came to the full realization that his perception of life was the opposite, saying, "I didn't know how un-full it was until I met Amal. And then everything changed. And I was like, 'Oh, actually, this has been a huge empty space.'"

Marriage changed George's life; he admitted he had never been in a position where another person's life mattered more to him than his own. The addition of their kids also made a significant impact on him.

The "Ocean's Twelve" actor previously stated that becoming a dad changed his perspective on life. He has become selfless and does not only look out for himself anymore, which he appreciates. "It's a wonderful thing. [...] We feel so lucky," said the Oscar winner.

Following the publication of the grainy images on the front cover of the magazine, George condemned the outlet and its employees, warning, "Make no mistake, the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

George later escalated the matter by penning an open letter to the UK tabloid Daily Mail asking them and other media publications to stop publishing photos of his son and daughter for fear of "real-world consequences."

In his letter, the filmmaker outlined how his wife's line of work as an international law and human rights lawyer puts his family at risk because she often "confronts" and puts terrorist groups on trial. Therefore, the couple must safeguard their kids' anonymity.
