Gayle King's ex-husband publicly apologized for cheating. She caught him in bed with another woman

- AmoMama has just learned from US Magazine and Daily Mail that Williams Bumpus recently apologized for cheating on his wife.

- Williams Bumpus was formerly married to Gayle King but they split up in 1993 after she caught him cheating on her.

- Gayle King has previously opened up to Vanity Fair that she has no love for the woman she caught with her ex-husband.

She is the co-anchor of the CBS News Morning show 'This Morning' and editor at The Oprah Magazine.

But Gayle King at the age of sixty-one is currently unmarried although she was married for about eleven years at one time.

The media mogul was previously married to William Bumpus who famously cheated on her with an unknown woman.

And twenty-six years on from the famous divorce, Bumpus recently issued a statement apologizing for the incident while speaking with Vanity Fair.

He said,

'I have been haunted by this life-altering choice. Though I have dealt with this privately … I publicly apologize for the major transgression that dramatically changed all of our lives'.

The disgraced ex-husband to Gayle King further went on to commend Gayle King for the way she handled herself during the whole saga

'I have nothing but the utmost respect for Gayle and how she handled herself with grace.Despite the situation, she kept our children, as well as my relationship and involvement with them, as a clear priority. Gayle was a great wife, an excellent mother and a fantastic co-parent. I am eternally grateful for all that she has done and continues to do to enrich my life and the lives of our incredible adult children. I continue to be a work in progress and have spent the last 26 years striving to be a better man and father. I applaud Gayle’s continued phenomenal success and friendship'.

King and Bumpus were married for 11 years before they split in 1993 and are co-parents to daughter Kirby and son Will.

Gayle King has also previously said that the woman she caught cheating with her husband although she deigned from mentioning her name.

'Despise' is a strong word. I'm not a huge fan of the woman I caught naked with my now ex-husband on June 24, 1990, at 9:16 p.m. – but I don't remember the details'

The TV personality previously opened up about Bumpus’ infidelity during a 2006 interview with Will Smith on her SiriusXM radio show.

She revealed that they’ve since moved on from the scandal for the sake of their kids.
