Rene married Britt Elizondo, whose maiden name is Britt Coelho. They have been together a total of 14 years, and they got married in 2010. Together, they share a beautiful daughter named Elin.

Janet and Rene were together since the 1980s, and their divorce cost Janet a lot of money for spousal support in 2000.
