Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva share photos from their wedding day

After saying their “I dos,” Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva held celebrations in New York City in the presence of their friends and families.

The bride posted photos of their Indian-inspired ceremony in New York City on Instagram on May 5, 2018.

In April 2018, Gere and Silva tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Spain.

Almost a month later, the couple celebrated the union on Gere’s ranch on the outskirts of New York City, on the shore of a lake on the property.

This one was full of family, emotion, joy, and spirituality. The two agreed to spend their life together, to become happy every day, to respect each other, to forgive and understand, to start a new family together, to help those in need, and to make their commitment last longer than this life.

Silva, the Spanish businesswoman and activist, is 35 years old, and Gere is 68. They were joined by the bride’s father, Ignacio Silva, who is the manager of Real Madrid, and her mother Paola Garcia-Baquero.

The others who attended the ceremony were her sister, Blanca Silva, her cousin Paola, make-up artist Eduardo Jimenez, the famous chef Eric Ripert, and writer Jonathan Cott, among others.

Speaking to Hola! USA, Silva said that they transformed the New York ranch into India. They brought tents of different colors from Jaipur. Tibetan flags were decorated between magnolias and cherry trees in flower.

The wedding planners, Maison fete, turned the ranch into a wonderful place, according to her.

The arrival of the bride and the groom was interesting as they arrived in a tuk-tuk with Richard driving it. Silva said, “It was very funny since nobody expected it!”

The American star was blown away by the Spanish beauty and told her that she was “the most spectacular woman” he had ever seen. The bride, on the other hand, could not just stop smiling because she was nervous.

The magical wedding had a Buddhist ceremony and the couple was married by “an important priest.” Gere and Silva’s children brought rings that they exchanged.

This is Gere’s third marriage. His first marriage was to supermodel Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995. He then married actress Carey Lowell in 2002 and they separated in 2016. He shares his 17-year-old son, Homer, with his second wife.

Silva has a five-year-old son Albert from her marriage to Govind Friedland.
