In 1986, an occasion called "Sisters In The Name of Love", an award-winning concert special, brought together three of the most soulful singers in the world. Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, and Dionne Warwick shared a night full of duets, which was aired in HBO 30 years ago.

GetTV takes us back to the musical classic that shook the world. The brainchild of Knight himself, and produced by her brother Bubba, the concert was a must-see back then even for the most casual music lover. The legendary 90-minute special was recorded before a live audience at the Aquarius Theater in Hollywood and included performances of fifteen different songs. While the trio shared a couple of songs together, they also made sure to do solo numbers complete with choreography much to the delight of their audience.

Patti LaBelle, known as the "Godmother of Soul", was born as Patricia Holt in 1944. Although she began her career in her 20's, the height of her career was in the 1980's, with two songs off of the popular "Beverly Hills Cop" soundtrack. At the time, she returned to the Billboard charts with vengeance. She performs one of those songs called "New Attitude" on "Sisters In The Name of Love". At the time, she just released her eighth studio album called "Winner In You", and her biggest song, "On My Own" which she sang with Michael McDonald was all over the radio.

Meanwhile, her friend Gladys began her career in 1952 when she won a TV contest. A year later, her act called "Gladys Knight and the Pips" was formed. They went on to sign with Motown records, tour with Diana Ross, and record some Grammy-winning singles like "Neither One of Us (Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye)" and "Midnight Train To Georgia".

Decades later, the bond between the three legends remains the same. In a recent photo of Gladys and Patti, they were all smiles as they reunited with one another in a recent event.

"My sister @mspattilabellecame to the show tonight. I love you! And Peppa had to get some love too"

Glad to see them happy and healthy after all these years!
