‘DWTS’ fans upset over the winner of Season 27 as they call the whole show a ‘joke’
Season 27 of "Dancing With The Stars" reached its grand finale on Monday. But when the winners were announced, that's when the controversy started.
Fans of the show were largely appalled at the results they heard. Many took to Twitter to express their anger. They said it was the show's worst season. To many, it was now more a popularity contest than anything else.
Country music DJ Bobby Bones and his professional dance partner Sharna Burgess received the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. But Bones himself didn't believe he deserved it. According to Pop Culture's report of the judge's scoring, he was technically right.

The pair racked up a score of 24/30 for their cha cha dance routine to MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This." But they got their first perfect 30/30 score in the freestyle dance set to a remixed version of Panic! at the Disco's "The Greatest Show."
In comparison, actress Evanna Lynch and pro partner Keo Motsepe got two perfect scores. They performed a tango to Rihanna's "Disturbia" and a freestyle for Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet."
Likewise, actor Milo Manheim and Witney Carson also received 30/30's. They did a Charleston to a live performance of Robin Thicke's "Living in New York City." They also performed freestyle to Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine."
Lastly, Model Alexis Ren and her partner Alan Bersten also did better than the winners. They got a 27/30 for their tango to Ray Chew Live's "Swan Lake."
In effect, Bones and Burgess were the worst performers for the finale but somehow came out on top. The pair can thank their fans' voting for helping them stick it out throughout the season.
At the end of several of his performances, Bones would admit he knew he wasn't the best, but that the show was for fans.

For those fans who voted for Bones, it was about his overall improvement rather than the caliber of dancing from all the competitors. Personality also seemed to be a factor.
In effect, the results implied that one would have to be a poor dancer and get better to end up earning the title. For that reason, some viewers vowed that this would be the last season they looked at.

Most people insulted the show, saying it reflected poorly on the show's integrity. While Bones' fans justified their support, some opposers criticized the dancers themselves.
Others commented their opinion on the pair that they believe should have won. And still, others begged for more positivity towards the winning couple.
The show's season has seen controversial send-offs in previous weeks. It also saw the power of fan voting when Joe Amabile, known as "Grocery Store Joe," remained on until the semi-finals.
Juan Pablo Di Pace was among the better dances who didn't gain enough of viewers' approval to remain, however.
And singer-songwriter Tinashe also left after being among the highest scorers in one episode. They had consistently ranked at the top until their elimination in mid-October.

Sharna Burgess' dancing prowess should not be understated despite her partner's falling short. When she worked with Andy Dick in a previous season, Burgess consistently gained top scores from the judges.

Burgess is also a tomboy at heart and practices shooting guns. She has a hobby of taking to the skies as well, being part of the mile high club.
The sometimes punk chick is not only loved by Hollywood either. She has a german Sheppard-rottweiler mix who will love her no matter how hard the DWTS backlash hits her.
