Andy began the show by saying that his guests for the day were no coincidence, that he had shared countless memories with all of the ladies, grateful that they let him into their lives. Now it was his turn to share with them:

"Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks' time, I am going to become a father, thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future."

By this time Andy’s facial expression could barely hide the smile that crept closer the more he got to the point of what he wanted to say. Talking around an ever-growing grin, Andy continued:

"Family means everything to me, and having one of my own is something I've wanted in my heart for my entire life. And though it's taken most me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet."

The response from his celebrity friends was supportive as Meghan McCain tweeted:

"So many congratulations @Andy - you're going to be an incredible father. I am so happy for you. You bring so much joy and laughter in this sometimes dark world, what wonderful news!"

The 50-year-old surrogate dad to be will host CNN’s New Year’s Eve special together with Anderson Cooper. In the build-up to the big night, Andy had Anderson on his show on Sunday night for some game time fun with the Real Housewives of Atlanta's star, Cynthia Bailey.

Andy had set them up with a fun game to play called ‘One, Two, AC.’ The game entailed Cynthia asking a question, to which both Andy and Anderson have to shout out the reply at the same time on the count of three.

Matters got interesting when Cynthia asked:

"What's the one thing people don't know about the two of you?"

While Anderson struggled to come up with something, Andy immediately replied, “That we are Eskimo brothers!”

Everyone bust out laughing but when Cynthia asked Andy what he meant, Andy gave her the run around unwilling to flat out say what he meant.

On June 19 the shoe was on the other foot when Andy sat down for an interview with CNN. During the sit down the 50-year-old shared insights into his personal life and addressed rumors about him and John Mayer is in a romantic relationship.

For years there have been rumors about the relationship between the 40-year-old John Mayer and Andy, and he took the opportunity to deny a romantic relationship with John as he replied:

“Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time. I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like the obvious assumption.”

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to CNN’s New Year’s Eve special, and by this time next year, Andy will get to enjoy it with a child of his own.
