Gabrielle Union shares heartwarming pictures of her 2-month-old daughter

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s baby girl just turned two months old, and their journey to get here was not easy, but they couldn’t be more proud and happy about their “miracle baby.”

The couple welcomed their first child together, Kaavia, via surrogate on November 7. Gabrielle’s struggles with fertility over the years included several miscarriages and had left it's emotional scars as she said:

"It just feels like a lot of shame. Just years of shame and humiliation and betrayal of your body. It's so many emotions."

Speaking of the hard road leading up to Kaavia’s birth, Gabrielle wrote:

"Every family is unique. How each family is created and comes together is special," she wrote. "Kaavia James Union Wade's journey into our arms was long and at times brutal. There were heartbreaks that nearly broke us and streams of tears that turned into raging rivers."

Dwyane went on to explain why they chose surrogacy:

"You know people kind of get this perception that, especially someone who is an actress or a celebrity or whatever the case may be, uses a surrogate because they are lazy. Because they didn't want to carry it, mess their bodies up. But for us when it got to the point where it was dangerous."

Because Gabrielle didn’t carry Kaavia herself she was worried that the special bond between mother and baby would be lacking as she commented:

"It's a little odd, I guess. A little different for us but what isn't going to a be little different for us? That scares me."

Dwayne Wade, already a father of three, shared what he hopes the future will hold for their family as he said:

"I just want us to love each other. For us, I want to be able to see my kids' kids have kids and be around. Experience them grow and see who they're going to become in life. Hopefully, they become people in this world that we're trying to raise them to become."

The proud new mum helped fans out with the proper pronunciation of their daughter's name, who already has her own Instagram account with more followers than most, and said the appropriate way to say her name is “Kah-Vee-Uh James.”

Reflecting on the year that past, Dwayne posted a sweet message alongside a picture of adorable Kaavia as he wrote in part:

“2019 I hope you’re ready for @kaaviajames and her agent/bodyguard of a father because this is how we’re coming into the new year “TOGETHER” 2018 was one of my most challenging years yet and also one of my most fulfilling years.”

Since Kaavia’s birth, she and the whole family had received an outpour of love, and when she turned two months old, Gabrielle posted an endearing picture of the two of them smiling while looking at the camera.

Fans were quick to respond with sweet messages as one follower wrote:

“2 happy ladies? Motherhood definitely looks good on you @gabunion.”

Another fan gushed:

"Aww, she’s finally awake ? such a cute baby! You look even more beautiful. ❤"

This year the couple are sure to experience many firsts with their newborn, and we are looking forward to sharing them! Happy New Year to the happy family!

When baby Kaavia had her first milestone of being one month old, Gabrielle took a picture of Kaavia where she looked as surprised as everyone else. Pictured in a pink onesie, she looked adorable with her facial expression and rounded open mouth.

The little one is quickly becoming known for all the cute faces she pulls, and all the fans look forward to seeing many more.
