'Sister Wives' star Meri Brown shares a happy photo taken with husband Kody

Reality tv show star, Meri Brown celebrated her 48th birthday on Thursday with her husband as they went on a 'couple' kind of outing. She took to her Instagram page later in the day to post a photo of the event.

Meri and Kody were both smiling; it was apparent they were having a good time. She captioned the post:

"So Kody and I went out for my birthday the other night and found this hidden gem in Flagstaff. I mean, maybe it was hidden, maybe we're just new to town lol! "#BlackBartsSteakhouse and Musical Revue was so fun, and we got to experience the musical talents of students from definitely #NAU a win!!"

Majority of their fans were pleased with the new development in the partner's status and used the medium to wish them well. This was as a result of the public marital scandal they have had in the past.

The estranged atmosphere between the TLC star and her co-star husband didn't go down well with the other wives as well.

“It’s sad, you see two broken hearts, and there’s really not — we don’t know what to do to fix it otherwise just support and just be there. But there’s broken hearts on both sides.” - Christine, one of the wives had said at the time.

Meri is the first wife of Kody Brown; with marital problems and some other family drama, she's had quite some scandals to her name.

When the show kick-started in 2009, Papa Brown and his four wives stated that they participated in the show to create awareness about polygamist families, and to combat unhealthy societal criticisms.

He believes his polygamist lifestyle is legal because he is legally married only to one woman, and the other marriages are spiritual unions. The tv series led to the family being investigated for possible prosecution.

It resulted in a federal judge declaring Utah laws that guard against polygamy to be unconstitutional mentioning that state may still outlaw plural marriages, but it cannot prohibit polygamous cohabitation.

The 10-year-old show is said to launch its new season for the new year by Sunday.
