Ellen DeGeneres Offers to Be Jennifer Lopez's Maid of Honor after Her Engagement to A. Rod

Ellen DeGeneres finally got her wish with the recent engagement of Jennifer Lopez and her beau Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez. Now, the famous talk show host plans to see things through and is offering to be Lopez’s maid of honor.

The singer/actress only said yes to her former athlete love on Saturday during their Bahamas getaway, but DeGeneres, 61, seems to be planning their wedding already.

Underneath J-Lo’s social media announcement of her engagement, the comedian left a cheeky comment captured by popular Instagram account “Comments By Celebs.”

“Yes. I’ll be your Maid of Honor,” DeGeneres wrote.

Lopez, 49, took to Instagram on Sunday with a picture of her insanely huge diamond ring and captioned it with several "heart" emojis.

Not to be missed, however, was the fact that she tagged DeGeneres in her post, most likely because the “Ellen” host has been quite invested in their romance tale.

Last November, DeGeneres asked the “Second Act” star when she and A-Rod, 43, were going to tie the knot.

“You should [get married] because y’all seem very happy,” DeGeneres said. “I mean, it would be good to do for Christmas.”

She even tried tricking a response out of Lopez by saying that the former baseball player texted her to say he was going to propose, but that Christmas proposal never happened.

Never one to give up, DeGeneres broached the topic again last month when Lopez was on her show. In a not-so-subtle move, she gifted the “Get Right” singer a giant clock with her and A-Rod’s faces on it and said:

“Because you and A-Rod just celebrated your two-year anniversary… This is a clock, and it’s basically to remind him that time is ticking and he should hurry up and propose. Or you should propose.”

Now that it finally happened, it was only fair, so to speak, that Lopez makes sure DeGeneres was a part of the announcement.

The newly-engaged couple shared the good news on their respective Instagram pages with a picture of Lopez’s incredibly huge rock against a sunset backdrop. The diamond sparkler has since caused a meltdown on social media because of its size, prompting hilarious memes from netizens.

A-Rod and Lopez began dating in February 2017, and both have two kids each from previous marriages. Lopez has 11-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony while A-Rod is a dad to two daughters, Natasha, 14 and Ella, ten, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

There are no details on the wedding yet, but when it does happen, it will be Lopez’s fourth and Rodriguez’s second.
