Meghan Markle’s Mom Doria Ragland Spotted at Home in LA Weeks before Daughter Is Due to Give Birth

Meghan Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, was recently spotted out and about near her home in Los Angeles. The sighting seems to contradict previous speculations that Ragland will be traveling to the UK to be with her daughter in the last weeks before the arrival of her royal baby.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to welcome their bundle of joy in late April or early May, but Meghan’s notoriously private mom, Ragland, does not look like she has plans to travel anytime soon, according to a report by Dailymail.com.

The yoga instructor was spotted walking her two dogs around her L.A. home on Thursday. In pictures published by the outlet, Ragland, 62, went for a casual look in her blue, long-sleeve t-shirt, khaki pants, and a puffy grey jacket.

"They are forever in touch, and Meghan has been here to stay..."

She tied her locks in a red scarf and complimented her outfit with dark pink sneakers, tinted shades, and a red cross-body bag.

Ragland was expected to fly to London ahead of her daughter’s due date since it was previously reported that Meghan and Prince Harry would not be hiring a nanny for their first offspring.

Besides helping the baby, it was also speculated that Ragland would be in the UK to attend the Duchess’s second baby shower and get to help her set up the nursery in the new Frogmore Cottage home the royals recently moved into.

Bazaar.com also published claims of Ragland attending her daughter's second baby shower. The outlet’s sources revealed last month that the event would be an intimate one for only a few of Meghan’s friends in England.

The Duchess of Sussex, earlier in February, flew to her former base in New York City where she and many celebrity friends partied at a star-studded baby shower. Close friends like Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, and Abigail Spencer, were among the famous faces at the bash.

Ragland’s absence at the NYC baby shower did not go unnoticed, but according to The Sun, the Duchess made a secret trip to her dear mother around the same time and took the Duke of Sussex along with her.

According to the report, several neighbors even noticed the royal couple but refused to divulge too many details.

“Meghan will always come back to Doria; this will always be her home. They are forever in touch, and Meghan has been here to stay on more than one occasion since going public with Harry,” one neighbor reportedly said. “I even saw him here once, but it’s not my place to say any more.”

Meanwhile, there have been various speculations surrounding the birth of Meghan and Prince Harry’s baby, including that unlike the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, Meghan is not likely to pose on the hospital steps following her delivery.
