Kelly Clarkson Had Emergency Surgery Hours After Hosting Billboard Music Awards
Singer, Kelly Clarkson clearly lives by the saying, "the show must go on!" She hosted the Billboard Music Awards while in severe pain from her appendix.
Hours after hosting the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas for the second consecutive year, Kelly Clarkson rushed back home. She then underwent surgery to get her appendix removed.
The “Broken & Beautiful” singer, 37, confirmed the news in a tweet on Thursday. She explained that she had “broken down in tears after the show from pain” and immediately flew back home once the awards show wrapped on Wednesday night.

Clarkson also shared that she had the surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Thursday morning. She went on to assure fans that she is now “feeling awesome” as she recovers.
The surgery is usually an emergency procedure. Entertainment Tonight revealed that Clarkson had been experiencing intense appendicitis pain for the last week.
Regardless of her pain, the star effortlessly hosted the BMA's and even put on a stunning performance at the event.
