Gladys Knight & Her Husband Dance to The O'Jays' 'Darlin Darlin Baby'
Gladys Knight has defied age and continues to look younger than her 75 years as seen in a new dance video with her husband. Plus, her secret to looking young is so simple that it is almost unbelievable.
Gladys Knight is famously called the "Empress of Soul" for her beautiful songs recorded with an angelic voice over the years. Recently, she came third place after getting unmasked as the bee in the TV show "The Masked Singer."
LOOKING FOREVER YOUNG
Beyond her musical fame, Knight is equally famous for maintaining a youthful look despite being 75, and in a video post on Instagram, she is seen looking ageless as she danced with her husband of 18 years, William McDowell.
The singer-songwriter wore a pink and black sports outfit with sneakers, as well as long braids, while McDowell wore an all-white outfit. The couple held hands while they danced, twirling and smiling at each other.
It appeared they are on vacation at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, and having a lot of fun.
THE SECRET TO LOOKING YOUNG
The "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" singer has aged very little in all the years she has entertained the world. Last year at the "Pre-Grammy Gala Night," her fans were shocked at how young and beautiful she looked, and questions of the secret behind this took the internet by storm.
Knight credited her ageless look to healthy eating and what she called "God-Given Genes." The singer added that she plays Tennis a lot, joking that she hopes to catch up to the William sisters — Serena and Venus.
Back in 2012, she participated in the dance show "Dancing With The Stars," and lost about 60 lbs. She said she achieved it with the help of her partner, Tristan MacManus, and “Freshology Get Slim.”
After leaving the show, she joked that McDowell threatened to divorce her because "He does not like skinny women."
WHO IS WILLIAM MCDOWELL?
Apart from being the man who has stayed married for the longest time to the "Neither One of Us" singer, there is very little known information about McDowell. He married Knight in 2001 after three failed marriages that produced three children.
Together, they are grandparents to 17 grandchildren and great-grandparents to 10 great-grandchildren. In a past interview, the mother-of-three while speaking on her marriage to McDowell and her ex-husbands said those failures served as a stepping-stone and learning opportunity to make her a better person.
Knight added that although it's a cliché, love is what makes the world go round, and she believes it is what everyone strives to feel and aspire to have in life.
