Idris Elba and his new wife Sabrina Dhowre made British Vogue history as they graced its July cover as the first African couple to do so. Sabrina shared the good news on her Instagram along with photos from their spread.

OFF THE MARKET, ON THE COVER

It’s been only a minute since fans of Idris shed tears upon learning he was off the market. He wed Sabrina in a beautiful wedding in Morocco last month.

Though many were aware since their engagement that the wedding was bound to take place, not many were privy to the inside story of their love affair. This July, fans are in for a treat as the couple opens up about their romance in their first cover story since becoming husband and wife.

"LIKE A DREAM"

Sabrina invites her followers via two Instagram posts to catch the latest issue of British Vogue. The photos she shared revealed the gorgeous couple dressed for their wedding.

“It all feels like a dream” she writes to caption one post and added, “we did it babe! First African couple on #BritishVogue.”

He [Idris] admits he had no plans of marrying again before Sabrina. “It wasn’t something that I wanted to do, get married again,” he says.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Idris and Sabrina’s love story is worthy of a cover feature especially after we learn more about their fairy tale romance.

“Sabrina has deepened friendships with people I’ve known longer than [her], nurturing the best side of me to make me connect to my friends more.”

Iris reveals they’ve been “inseparable” since they met. He admits he had no plans of marrying again before Sabrina. “It wasn’t something that I wanted to do, get married again,” he says. The 47-year-old had been married once and didn’t want to go that road again.

However, things changed when he set his eyes on his wife. It was love at first sight.

The couple met in Canada while the actor was filming “The Mountain Between Us” in 2017. According to Idris, Sabrina brought out the best in him.

More of the couple’s lavish wedding will be featured on the magazine issue including never-before-seen photos from the occasion. The last time they attending a wedding as special as theirs was at Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal nuptials last year where Idris served as the couple's DJ during their reception. They also shared that experience during their interview with Vogue.

Though the Duke and Duchess were unable to attend their wedding having welcomed their son shortly after, they reportedly sent an extravagant gift. It was a painting by the Connor Brothers valued at $9k.
