Angela Simmons Shares Throwback Video in Touching Tribute to Her Late Ex-Fiancé on Father’s Day
Angela Simmons celebrated Father’s Day by sending heartwarming messages to some of the most important men in her life, including her late ex-fiancé and father of her son, Sutton Tennyson Sr., who was murdered in November 2018.
Among many celebrities who took to social media to celebrate Father’s Day, Angela Simmons’ message for her late baby's daddy melted hearts and earned her the sympathy of her millions of Instagram followers.
The reality star shared a throwback video of Sutton Tennyson hanging out with their son Sutton Jr. in a pool. In the clip, Sutton can be seen encouraging the little boy to kick and splash around, while Sutton Jr. giggled happily in the water.
Angela captioned the clip:
“Words will never be good enough .... to fill the voids I feel for our Baby Boy! Happy Father’s Day !! You are missed. And to anyone who has lost a father, son, brother, husband, grandfather ... Stay Strong. You got this. You are not alone.”
FANS’ WELL-WISHES
Fans of the “Growing Up Hip Hop” star took over her comment section to send her positive thoughts and blessings for her child.
“RIP Sutton Sr. I love that Sutton Jr has his name because he can live his life in honor of his father,” wrote one user.
Another added,
“My heart goes to you both today. Jesus, wrap your arms around them and give continued strength. He would be proud of you both Ang.”
And a third one said: “Cutest video ever ...so sorry for your pain and praying for your child!!!”
REMEMBERING SUTTON
It’s not the first time that Angela remembers her baby’s father on social media this year.
On Mother’s Day, the 31-year-old also shared a throwback pic alongside Sutton when their son was still a newborn, and added in her caption:
“Motherhood has changed me forever. I am forever grateful. Thinking of you today. Thank you for my blessing. He’s beautiful. Happy Mother’s Day to all the strong Mamas out, you got this.”
Angela and Sutton got engaged in April 2016 and welcomed SJ in September of the same year. However, by December 2017, Angela revealed she was a single mother through an Instagram post.
“Don’t stay somewhere that you aren’t valued. And don’t allow anyone to treat you less than what you are,” she wrote at the time.
A SENSELESS MURDER
On November 3, 2018, Sutton Tennyson Sr. was shot 13 times in his arms, legs, stomach, and chest after an argument with another man outside his Atlanta home escalated. He was dead by the time police arrived at the scene.
Less than a week later, Michael Williams, the man with whom Sutton was arguing, surrendered himself to local police. He faced charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and murder.
However, his attorney Jackie Patterson told PEOPLE that Williams denied all allegations and intended to fight the charges.
