Meghan Markle Matches Son Archie by Wearing a Classy White Dior Dress for His Christening
The past few days have had the internet buzzing as Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle celebrate the christening of their newborn. Images from the ceremony, which was private, have made their way to the internet, and as expected fans can't help but be intrigued!
The christening was carried out on July 6, and it took place at a private Chapel at the Windsor Castle.
As disclosed from earlier reports, it wasn't going to be a complete 'media' affair as the Duke and Duchess decided to invite only a selected few, and even keep the identity of their child's Godparents secret.
"Their son, Archie, was baptized wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years."
However, fans are thrilled as snippets from the ceremony are shared by the Royals through their Instagram page.
The two-image post contained a statement which revealed that the ceremony was officiated by Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and also, thanked members of the public for their support. It made a new disclosure concerning how the christening was celebrated.
"Their son, Archie, was baptized wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter, the statement revealed."
The first image which accompanied the statement featured an extended family pose. It contained the new parents, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland and a few others from the royal family.
The second was a more intimate pose which showed Prince Harry, Meghan and baby Archie alone. Here, the black and white image showed the couple close as they had Archie in Meghan's hands and her husband next to her.
The ceremony wasn't short of 'gorgeous' when it came to outfits as well. Meghan was captured wearing a white Dior dress that matched her son's christening regalia.
She completed the simple but yet 'classy' look with a matching hat. This isn't too surprising as the former actress is well known to set the pace when it comes to the fashion scene.
Archie's private christening had members of the royal family that are close to the parents, including Princess Diana's sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Lady Jane Fellowes. The Queen, however, was not in attendance.
THE NEW PARENTS WON'T SHARE THE NAMES OF ARCHIE'S GODPARENTS
Although Harry and Meghan gave fans a glimpse of the two-month-old at his christening, there are still no details about his godparents.
The new parents refused to release information about their son's godparents as revealed in a statement.
"The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private."
