Kimora Lee Simmons & Djimon Hounsou Reportedly in Custody Fight over Son Kenzo
Djimon Hounsou and Kimora Lee Simmons are now in a bitter custody battle over their 10-year-old son Kenzo, after Djimon claims he hasn't seen his son in a while.
Djimon Hounsou has gone to court to request for joint custody between him and Kimora, but the fashion designer's camp claims the reason why Kenzo hasn't seen his dad is that he threatened to move him to Africa.
No Time with Kenzo?
After months worth of reports saying Djimon and Kimora are in dispute over their son, it turns out it's still ongoing. Just two months ago, Djimon complained that he wasn't even allowed to see his son during father's day, insinuating that his ex has been keeping the child away from him.
However, Kimora argues that Hounsou has never been a hands-on father, and is in fact, the opposite. She claims he is an absent father who rarely wanted to spend time with their son.
In July, the actor complained that it was so difficult to see his son Kenzo, as Kimora Lee Simmons seems to be keeping him away intentionally.
Djimon's Cryptic Message
He posted a photo of his son on Instagram, with a cryptic message that got people thinking. On his caption, he wrote: "#thinkingofyou #klh"
Simmons dated Djimon Hounsou in 2007, and in 2008, they got married in a traditional Benin commitment ceremony. They welcomed their son Kenzo on May 30, 2009, before splitting up in 2012.
Looking back on better days
Despite the recent custody battle between the ex-couple, it hasn't always been this way. They would still celebrate milestones together in the past couple of years, including celebrations for Kenzo's birthdays.
However, an unknown turn of events caused them to be engaged in such a bitter custody battle, with both parents trying to secure sole custody of their ten-year-old child.
