'Empire' Star Malik Yoba Freestyle Rapped to Respond to Allegations That He Abused Trans Minors
Malik Yoba found a creative way to send out a message to his detractors, particularly the transwoman who accused him of abusing her when she was a minor. A clip of the actor telling her to "leave me alone" in freestyle is loaded with things he had to say.
If Malik Yoba was trying to make light of recent allegations against him concerning the abuse of trans minors, then freestyle rapping his response was the way to go.
The “Empire” actor took to his Instagram this week to address a transwoman’s claims that the 51-year-old paid her for sex when she was a minor.

YOBA'S BRAVE CONFESSION
Yoba earned praises last weekend when he confessed to being trans-attracted. He made the confession in a post that has now been deleted as a response to a clip of Maurice “Reese” Willoughby being bullied by Black males because he preferred transwomen. Willoughby took his life after.
“I love ALL women AND count MYSELF among those that find themselves trans attracted and I too have felt the self imposed shame that comes with that truth but it’s time to speak up,” Yoba wrote to caption the controversial clip. “It is NOT about GENITALIA OR SEX but about attraction to the soul and humanity of an individual,” he added.
Shortly after he confessed his attraction to transwomen, Yoba thanked his supporters who lauded his honesty. However, the downside was how it affected his children.
HER BLATANT ACCUSATION
Days later, transwoman Mariah Lopez Ebony posted her lengthy message on Facebook accusing the actor of coming out in the open about his trans attraction only to hide a darker secret.
“…his admission to being sexually attracted to Trans women, is bound to open a Pandora’s box for him;” Ebony revealed and explained, “not because the women are Trans, But because many of the Trans women he engaged in sexual exploration and exploitation with on 14th Street, Times Square and elsewhere, were minors. Including myself.”
“Sorry to burst a lot of folks bubbles,” she later added. “What Malik paid me to do, as a 13 and 16 year old, wasn’t love.”
HIS FREESTYLE RESPONSE
In response to Ebony’s claims, Yoba came to his defense in his own creative way. He shared a video (which he later deleted) where he raps his thoughts.
“How quickly people love to spread news with no proof of child abuse. You confused I see you. You choose to try to make me lose but I can’t. If you try to stand in my shoes you would lose. You can’t win when you live in sin…”
Yoba goes on to emphasize that his love is universal whether it be for a man, woman or trans.
“Leave me alone with your words and your comments” he later says. “You the one that’s confused.”
At the end of his rap, Yoba laughed and asked, “How you like that? That was a little freestyle.”
He also explains that “a lot of nonsense is floating around town” and he’s not going to defend himself. Instead, he says,
“Ima dig deep. Ima lean into my creativity. Ima lean into the purpose and the purpose is the service. It’s all it’s about. Love.”

HIS PUBLIC PLEA
Shortly after he confessed his attraction to transwomen, Yoba thanked his supporters who lauded his honesty. However, the downside was how it affected his children. He admitted in a now-deleted post that his kids received “foul messages” on social media because of it.
He encouraged others not to judge for something they don’t understand.
“Just because you don’t understand something does not make it wrong,” he said.
Yoba has three children, daughters Pria and Dena, and son Josiah. He was first married to Trisha Mann and later to Cat Wilson. He and Wilson divorced in 2010.
UPDATE: As of today, Yoba's posts in relation to his admission of trans-attraction have been deleted from his account.
