Jennifer Hudson of 'Cats' Is All Smiles in Rare Photo with 10-Year-Old Son Who's Growing up so Fast

Jennifer Hudson and her son David Otunga, Jr. flaunted their flair in fashion in a rare flashback pic of the two of them. A spunky David posed with his teatime-ready mom.

Jennifer Hudson’s Friday couldn’t be lovelier as she shared a flashback photo with her son, David Otunga Jr. Mother and son struck poses dressed to the nines and it’s safe to assume that the 9-year-old learned a thing or two from his mom when it comes to fashion.

KEEPING A MEMENTO FROM A SPECIAL MOMENT

It was only a few days earlier when fans were treated to a rare appearance of David Jr. on the singer’s Instagram when they attended the grand opening of Tyler Perry’s historic studio. David was captured by his mom on video stashing the event’s menu which had his name on it.

“…he knows just how special this moment really is,” Jennifer explained of David’s interest in keeping a memento from the occasion.

It’s safe to assume that Jennifer finally found peace following the closed-door settlement that took place in July between her and David Jr.’s father, David Otunga.

TEATIME WITH MOM?

And just when we thought we wouldn’t catch a glimpse of David again on the powerhouse performer’s Instagram for a while, she delighted us with another cute photo of the two of them.

In the flashback pic, Jennifer was dressed in a neon pink ruffled number and a black fascinator appearing to look ready for afternoon tea.

Meanwhile, David looked spunky in a gray coat over a black shirt. He spruced up his look with a long silver chain and a pendant dangling from his neck and completed it with cool aviator shades.

Jennifer looked forward to the weekend in her caption which simply read, “Flash back Friday ! It’s finally the weekend ! It’s almost Sunday again.”

Fans agree that David has “grown so much.” One fan commented, “he growing up real fast what a blessing,” while another described him as “handsome.”

CUSTODY CASE CLOSED

It’s safe to assume that Jennifer finally found peace following the closed-door settlement that took place in July between her and David Jr.’s father, David Otunga.

As a result of a bitter custody battle, the parents finally came to an agreement, the details of which were not revealed due to a gag order they both signed. It’s unclear how their son’s time was split between them following the proceedings, but it looks like both have come to terms with it.

David and Jennifer were engaged in 2008, the year before they welcomed their son. Things went sour between the couple in 2017 after Jennifer accused the former wrestler of abusive behavior and filed a protective order against him. David denied her accusations and was eventually cleared by the judge of any crime.
