The 22-year-old graduate from Loyola Marymount University was the keynote speaker at a Los Angeles summit for the Family Office Association.

During the engagement, among the many things he discussed was his experience of being raised by his late father and the wisdom he learned from him which he carries on to this day.

"...he understood what it was like to struggle as well as what it was like to be prosperous.”

THE GREATEST THING HE LEARNED FROM HIS FATHER

Prince, who admitted feeling honored to be named after his dad, explained that many often assumed he grew up under a different environment with the King of Pop as his father. However, he insisted, “To me, he was my father first and foremost.”

Looking back, one of the important things he learned from Michael was to live with compassion. Drawing out the lesson from his father’s example, Prince said Michael, because of his humble beginnings, developed compassion for the less fortunate.

Prince shared a clip from his interview on his Instagram and even used his father’s famous songs as part of his caption.

“My father was a humanitarian first and foremost, above being the greatest entertainer of all time,” he proudly revealed.

“My father came from very humble beginnings in Gary, Indiana. Very large family in a very small house. So, he understood what it was like to struggle as well as what it was like to be prosperous.”

That being said, Michael encouraged Prince and his two other siblings, Paris and Blanket to also have compassion.

“He wanted us to always remember to never forget to have compassion for the less fortunate. We can never truly understand where they're coming from, and we should strive to."

Moreover, Prince shared that his father would always remind them to treat everyone the same way, rich or poor. "You treat the janitor the same way you treat the CEO,” he said.

A NOD TO HIS DAD

Prince shared a clip from his interview on his Instagram and even used his father’s famous songs as part of his caption.

After thanking Family Offices Foundation for inviting him and expressing how much he enjoyed speaking at its Inter Gen Event, he wrote,

“Together we can all #healtheworld and #makeitabetterplace but first we must start with #themaninthemirror (or woman)to #makethatchange.”

THE GOOD MIND BEHIND THE DISTURBING STORIES ABOUT HIM

It is refreshing to see the mature Prince being candid about his father. He and his siblings were carefully shielded by Michael from the scourging rays of the limelight growing up.

It’s rare to see him open up about the star who was crucified following the release of the scathing documentary, “Leaving Neverland” which accused him of molesting young boys.

Seeing Michael in the eyes of his son, it is easy to see that there was a lot of good in the controversial singer in spite of the serious allegations against him.
