Lil Nas X Slayed 2020 Grammy Awards Red Carpet in Edgy Hot Pink Cowboy Outfit

Lil Nas X lit up the Grammy Awards red carpet with his flamboyant hot-pink cowboy outfit. The 20-year-old rapper has consistently showcased his flair for loud prints and did not disappoint even as he took home two Grammys.

Lil Nas X's claim to stardom was a viral hit, but so far, the Georgia-born artist has demonstrated staying power, not only with music but also through fashion. His outfits are always something to look forward to.

On Sunday, Lil Nas X was one of the thousands of people celebrating one of music’s biggest award nights, and he didn’t come to play. The "Old Town road" singer arrived in a cowboy outfit, one you wouldn’t see every day.

Lil Nas X’s cowboy suit was not to be missed thanks to its Barbie Pink hue. The outfit consisted of a leather harness and mesh top worn under a custom cropped jacket. He styled it with matching leather pants, a cowboy hat, and boots.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lil Nas X was outfitted by Versace, and throughout the ensemble, you could see the Italian label’s signature Medusa icon and characteristic gold studs.

Lil Nas X also had Versace gold scarves fluttering from each of his wrists, and per the Times, his generous helping of jewelry were both from Versace and John Hardy. Popsugar notes that the rapper’s ring was from the latter.

Last week, Lil Nas X’s stylist Hodo Musa explained why they chose Versace for his Grammy look:

"I reached out to this designer because I felt they can bring out the aesthetic we wanted from the ‘90s. It’s been a very beautiful collaboration. I feel like a lot of people will love it."

The Times noted that, since collaborating with Musa last May, Lil Nas X’s signature outfit has consisted of a cropped jacket and high-waist pants. With each event, another colorful variant of the uniform is unveiled.

In November, Lil Nas X showed up at the American Music Awards in a slime-green cropped jacket and high-waist pants with a zebra-print velvet T-shirt and matching opera gloves. The jacket trend also turned out to be a hit at the Grammys.

At the end of the night, Lil Nas X took home two awards for the remix of his viral hit song, "Old Town Road," featuring Billy Ray Cyrus – best pop duo/group performance and best music video.

Billy Ray dedicated the awards to Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, who died together in a helicopter crash on the same day as the Grammys. Billy Ray’s daughter, Miley Cyrus, has also congratulated her father and Lil Nas X on their Grammy wins.
