No matter how hard it was, we didn’t quit... Lots of thoughts and emotions about yesterday’s race. After a tire failure in qualifying we had to start the race from the back. Over the weekend there were 10 tire failures, many from the Honda’s. Race began and we kept to our plan: take care of the car and stay out of trouble. During my stint, we went from 11th to 2nd. @tomoracing jumped in just before 1/2 way and went to work. Unfortunately ANOTHER tire failure put him in the wall, but with little damage we continued and did our last stop with 80 minutes to go in the race with two laps down. Our cars fuel capacity was 60 minutes. Fuel saving and in last place, Tom kept his head down kept pushing. With the help of some yellows, he got us back on the lead lap, from 7th-3rd, in hopes of salvaging a rough day with a podium. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. We ran out of fuel in the second to last corner and coasted across the line in 5th. On the bright side, we did score points and still are the championship leaders. Congrats to our teammates for a much needed win and thanks to @lapmotorsports @l.a.hondaworld @hondaracing_hpd for all their hard work!
