Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Officially out of Office After Royal Exit
Prince Harry, 35, and his wife Duchess Meghan, 38, officially stepped down as British Royals on March 31, 2020. A day after their exit, a new out-of-office email reply was generated for anyone who attempted to communicate with them on the old email address.
Harry and Meghan’s auto-reply to the couple’s emails now reads: “Many thanks for your email. The office for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has now closed.” In early January 2020, the couple indicated that they wished to step down as senior members in the Royal Family.
April 1 is the first official day as independent beings. In February, the couple laid off their London staff members.

Letting go of staff members
The pair will no longer maintain an office at Buckingham Palace in the UK. The person who headed Harry and Meghan’s communications team, Sara Latham, is set to work for the Queen‘s private office.
She will be responsible for advising her on special projects. Latham will be reporting to the Queen’s private secretary, Edward Young.
Sussexes to answer own communications
Buckingham Palace will also no longer comment on inquiries related to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. On Monday, a statement was released saying:
“No other royal communications representatives act on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
Sharing a final social media message
This will include the “palace spokespeople, Household representatives nor royal sources.” At the beginning of this week, Harry and Meghan took to their Instagram account to share a final message with their followers.

In part, the message read: “Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world.” The couple is currently living in California after recently leaving Canada with their son Archie, 10-months-old, amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Prince Charles to fund son’s security
Prince Charles will reportedly take out $2.5 million annually for security costs for Harry’s family. The couple will no longer be based full-time in the UK with Harry’s family.
Harry is currently sixth in line to the throne, after his father, Charles, brother, Prince William, and William’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
