China's parents have kept a close eye on all of their daughters, who have all pursued careers in Hollywood.
According to The New York Times, they feared China getting lost in by the limelight like some child stars, so they sort advice from Selena Gomez's parents about how to help her handle fame.
Her father Michael McClain admitted that he and his wife, Shontell McClain, had made a conscious effort to ensure their children stayed humble, he explained:
"The minute her mother and I or her older sisters sense the slightest whiff of diva behavior, we will jump all over it"
China agreed with her parents' approach and admitted that Selena's ability to navigate her wholesome image had been an inspiration for her, she revealed:
"Selena is my role model. I’m never going to disrespect myself…never."
China was hit with a huge blow last year, when her "Descendants" 3 co-star, Cameron Boyce, passed away after an epileptic seizure.
According to Daily Mail, China was completely shocked by his death and said she was not aware that he had an underlying medical condition. After ten years of friendship, she also admitted that watching his posthumous performance in the movie would be an emotional moment for her.
