The 53-year-old actress shared a throwback photo that featured her posing with her mom and sisters at the venue of the GLAAD Awards.
In the photo, the four women huddled together with similar smiles on their faces. In her captions, Garcelle claims she found the picture the night before her mom's birthday. She wrote,
"Found this picture of my sisters and my mom last night from the #glaadawards there are no coincidences today is her birthday."
Fans of the "Coming to America" actress joined her in wishing her mom a happy birthday — they agreed with Garcelle that her finding the picture when she did had to be a coincidence. A fan wrote,
"Just saw this, beautiful, no coincidence indeed."
Garcelle is a Haitian–American actress and reality television personality best known for her roles as "Francesca Monroe" on the sitcom, "The Jamie Foxx Show," and as "Valerie Heywood" on the crime drama, "NYPD Blue."
She is also a mother who loves her kids fiercely and is hell-bent on making sure they never miss the comfort of having a father because of her not-so-perfect past.
Garcelle's father had reportedly split up with her mom while she was 3 — she didn't meet him again till she was 14. To avoid the same thing happening to her twins after her breakup with their father, Mike Nilon, the talented actress decided to join him in co-parenting the twins, and they're doing a pretty decent job.
She divorced Saunders in the middle of the fifth season of "The Jamie Foxx Show."
Garcelle opened up on the topic in 2014 — she shared that co-parenting her twins with Nilon has been a blessing to her because she gets to see her boys even when it's not her turn to spend time with them.
The famous TV personality added that she feels it's better for the kids to see both their parents supporting them at sporting events and school activities. She also commended her ex for making sure the twins feel at home each time they're with him.
Aside from the twins, Garcelle has a son named Oliver from her relationship with producer Daniel Saunders. She divorced Saunders in the middle of the fifth season of "The Jamie Foxx Show." Their son, Oliver, was born in 1991.
In February, Garcelle officially became a grandma as her son, Oliver, welcomed his first baby. Garcelle celebrated the happy occasion with a montage of photos that featured Oliver, the baby, his family.
In her captions, Garcelle revealed that the new baby's arrival coincides with her son's birthday, and she expressed excitement at the concept of becoming a grandma. Congratulations Garcelle!
