Clare Crawley opened up about her difficult past ahead of the new "Bachelorette" season. She says that she now sees her struggles as her "superpower."
Clare Crawley had just come out of an abusive relationship when she became a contestant on ABC's "The Bachelor." This week, she sat down for the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast to talk about more of her past.
Crawley said she was amazed at how far she's come from feeling ashamed of her past to now being confident as she looks for love on this season's "The Bachelorette."
NEW "BACHELORETTE" STAR SHARES ABUSIVE PAST
The California hairstylist was unafraid to reveal what she endured before reaching where she is today. She lived in a car for some time while making minimum wage as an assistant.
Crawley further talked about being in an abusive relationship while dealing with her father's death. Over time, she was able to rid herself of the detrimental situation she was in.
CRAWLEY WANTS ACCEPTANCE IN NEXT RELATIONSHIP
When it comes to finding someone new, Crawley said she wants the man in her life to "love [her] for all the hard stuff that [she's] been through" because "anybody can love you for the easy fun times."
In terms of the bigger picture, Crawley hopes to inspire others who might have been in a similar situation to hers. Even if every day is not easy, she wants to instill courage and strength in others.
WHAT HAPPENED WITH CRAWLEY & JUAN PABLO
Crawley has been on a bumpy road through reality tv to arrive where she is now. Most notably, the drama behind her breakup with Juan Pablo during season 18 of "The Bachelor" reemerged in recent months.
Crawley finished as the runner-up when the season ended. Reportedly, the pair's relationship hit rock bottom during a helicopter ride on their last date. At the time, Crawley described Pablo's words as "insulting" and "offensive."
BACHELORETTE STAR HAS DONE RESEARCH
Crawley even got feedback from some of her pals. In turn, she hopes the men have researched her as well. It's essential that they know about her dogs.
ROBBY HAYES ADDRESSES CHRISLEY DRAMA
Elsewhere, former "Bachelorette" contestant Robby Hayes dealt with a different reality star. Lindsie Chrisley of "Chrisley Knows Best" has been having trouble with her family in the past few months.
Amid legal battles, Chrisley's family allegedly threatened to release an extramarital affair sex tape of Chrisley and Hayes. Chrisley is married to Will Campbell.
Hayes, who is Chrisley's friend, said that, if anything, the scandal brought them closer together and showed him how strong Chrisley is.
