NFL Star Walter Payton's Only Son Jarrett Pens Touching Tribute to Mom Connie – What Is It About?
Walter Payton's only son, Jarrett, recently warmed a lot of hearts after taking to social media with an emotional tribute dedicated to his mom on her birthday.
NFL superstar Walter Payton left more than an enduring legacy when he passed away, he also left behind a beautiful family which includes his wife, Connie, and two kids - son Jarrett and daughter Brittney.

Recently, Connie celebrated another complete revolution around the sun and her son, Jarrett, took to Instagram with a heartwarming tribute to commemorate the new milestone. He shared a montage of photos featuring his mom and himself at different points in their lives.
The montage began with a recent photo that featured an adult Jarrett standing with an arm around his mother—they both wore similar smiles. He captioned the post:
"Every day I learn something new from your grace, wonder, and compassionate soul. You're truly the best, and I'm so blessed to have YOU as my mom."
Jarrett ended the captions with several hashtags like; "Love," "mom," and "happy birthday." The pictures that followed seemed to reach back farther into the years—one captured a young-looking Jarrett with his equally young mom twinning in blue tees with broad smiles written across their lovely faces.
Walter and Connie met upon the insistence of his college coach.
The last photo in the montage seemed to be the oldest of the bunch. In the shot, Connie wore a smile with a hand under her chin while in front of her, Jarrett stood with his hands clasped.
In the comments section, fans joined Jarrett in wishing his mom a happy birthday—they all hoped she had a wonderful celebration and thanked Jarrett for taking the time to share the intimate throwback photos. One fan wrote:
"Thanks for sharing such personal pictures. Happiest of birthdays to Miss Connie!!!"
Jarrett's father, Walter, died in November 1999 after a battle with cancer. Less than a year after his demise, his wife, Connie, and her family founded the Walter Payton Cancer Fund to support research geared towards treating the disease.
By 2002, she had written a book filled with advice and quotations from families of cancer victims. She is also in charge of running the "Walter and Connie Payton Foundation" which provides aid for less privileged children.
The Foundation was also responsible for co-presenting an exhibition known as "Sweetness: The Walter Payton Story" at the Lake County Discovery Museum in Wauconda.
In 2011, an unauthorized biography titled, "Sweetness: The Enigmatic Life of Walter Payton" hit the bookshelves. The book allegedly contained some of the NFL star's darkest secrets with the book's main focus being Walter's infidelity.
Jarrett broke his silence at the time of the release and revealed that he did not hold a grudge against the book's writer. However, he expressed sadness that his father was unavailable to defend himself.
Walter and Connie met upon the insistence of his college coach, Bob Hill, who had been dating her aunt. After meeting her several times, he insisted she meet Walter whom he referred to as his son. She did and the rest is history. Happy birthday Connie!
