See How 'Today Show' Host Hoda Kotb Celebrated Her 56th Birthday with Daughters Haley and Hope
Hoda Kotb, the host and co-anchor of "Today Show," recently became a year older. To commemorate the anniversary, she gave fans a peek into how she celebrated the big day.
Kotb turned 56 over the weekend. According to an Instagram post that she shared yesterday, she appeared to have celebrated the anniversary with her family alone.
The TV personality shared a video that showed her and her two daughters — Haley Joy and Hope Catherine — blowing out a beautiful birthday cake.

The trio counted down as they came together and blew out the cake in a sweet gesture. Kotb also had a few family members present, although they connected via video call.
Given the novel coronavirus pandemic still out there, it was probably best for everyone to celebrate indoors. Even without a lavish party, the TV personality looked like she had fun. Captioning her video, she wrote:
"What a perfect bday. Zoom with my sis brother and his family-- mom with us.. joel working camera one. ❤️"
Kotb and her little girls weren't the only ones who had cake. One of the family members who connected via video chat also had a plate of cupcakes to celebrate the day.
Even without many people in attendance, Kotb seemed to have had fun. All in all, the celebrations looked to have been quite fruitful.
It appears that Kotb's mother, Sami, was the only person who could make the celebration.
Kotb has built quite a following for herself, particularly from her work on TODAY. Fans trooped into her comment section to wish her a happy birthday, making her 56th celebration even more special.
Despite the lack of a party, Kotb did explain that she was fine celebrating with her family. Speaking with her fellow "Today Show" anchors last week, she said:
"I'm always excited to have time to hang with the family on my birthday, but this birthday is extra awesome..."
It appears that Kotb's mother, Sami, was the only person who could make the celebration. Every other family member had to catch up on video chat to wish her a great day.
Kotb also got tons of birthday wishes from her celebrity friends. According to reports, she got a shout out from legendary singer Dolly Parton, who sang her a personalized song to commemorate the day.
Others who took time to celebrate her include country singer Blake Shelton, pop artist Tony Bennett, and Kathy Lee Gifford, Kotb's former TODAY co-anchor.
