The video showed Kaavia in an adorable outfit and white shoes going down a toy slide outdoors and rushing over to where her father laid on the grass to get a piece of pizza from his plate. Union's voice could be heard narrating in the background. The post was captioned with, "When They Underestimated You"
Since her daughter's birth, [Union] has been inspired to write stories that are more culturally representative, fun, and have lessons for every age.
The little girl is the first child of the actress and the former NBA star, although Wade has three other children - Zaire Blessing Dwyane and Xavier Zechariah whom he had with his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches, and Zaya with a woman named Aja Metoyer.
The "Being Mary Jane" star also shared a couple of adorable pictures of herself and daughter, Kaavia rocking their natural curls on Instagram. She also shared an exciting video of little Kaavia learning how to swim and an adorable picture of Wade brushing his daughter's curls.
The "Bring It On" actress told People magazine that since her daughter's birth, she has been inspired to write stories that are more culturally representative, fun, and have lessons for every age.
Baby Kaavia has always been quite the personality. Fans may recall last year when Union uploaded a video on Instagram of 9-month-old Kaavia saying the words, 'bye-bye.'
According to the proud mom, those were Kaavia's first words. In an interview with Essence magazine, Wade and Union described their daughter as passionate even though she was still an infant at the time. The "L.A.'s Finest" co-star said:
"She does not do baby talk... She'd prefer to listen to CNN over baby talk any day. She's not with that. You can have a normal conversation with her, and she'll react."
Kaavia is the pride and joy of her parents as they had struggled for years to have their child. In her 2017 book "We're Going to Need More Wine" and on the show "Dr. Oz," Union revealed that she had experienced many miscarriages and later found out that it was a type of endometriosis known as adenomyosis which affected her fertility.
Kaavia was finally conceived through a surrogate on November 7, 2018, and the couple has never been happier, as shown from their posts on Instagram.
