The picture shared on Michael's Instagram saw Gene donning a military uniform while Louise rocked a stylish brown coat worn over a polka dot outfit.
With Gene leaning towards his wife and Louise lovingly staring at her husband, the two flashed charming smiles as they posed for the picture. Michael accompanied the snap with an equally sweet note. In his caption, he wrote:
"My Mom and Dad have been my inspirations all day/every day! Love these two for loving me!❤️."
Shortly after sharing the post, fans and followers took to the comments section to leave sweet compliments for the adorable couple.
Some other users, however, had more things to say. One user said he could not believe how much Michael looked like his father in the picture while another agreed that the former NFL player indeed looks like his dad.
Over the next decade, Strahan would set an impeccable record in his career and was eventually ranked fifth in NFL history.
Michael's heartwarming post comes about a month after Gene passed away at the age of 83. This came as a shock to the NFL player who shared a special bond with his father.
Expressing his grief in an Instagram post, Michael described Gene as his hero and explained that it was difficult to process his dad's sudden death.
However, he maintained a positive outlook and said he was sure his father's spirit lives on. He concluded by encouraging fans to spend enough time with their family and let them know how much they are loved.
Gene and Louise welcomed Michael on November 21, 1971 as the youngest of six children. He spent the majority of his childhood in Germany but later returned to Texas for his senior year in high school.
With a special gift in football, Michael received a scholarship to play at Texas Southern University in Houston. In college, he made incredible records and soon got the attention of NFL scouts. By 1993, he was drafted into the NFL.
Over the next decade, Strahan would set an impeccable record in his career and was eventually ranked fifth in NFL history at the time he played his final game. With his achievement in football, Michael has made a name for himself, and there is no doubt that he has made his parents proud.
