Renowned television presenter and host Kathie Lee Gifford’s 27-year-old daughter Cassidy has grown to not only become a public figure like her mother but also a devoted wife.

Kathie Lee added another son when Cassidy tied the knot to Ben Wierda in June. Now months after their wedding, the duo are still going strong, and their love journey right from their engagement to their nuptials was memorable and didn’t fail to tug at hearts.

CASSIDY’S ENGAGEMENT

The lovebirds got engaged on November 17, 2019, in a heartwarming yet fun proposal that saw Cassidy devouring a bowl of Quesadilla when Wierda got on one knee and popped the big question.

Cassidy’s older brother Cody also walked down the aisle with his fiancée Erika Brown this year.

The “God’s Not Dead” actress explained in an Instagram story days after the proposal that not only did her engagement come with a funny moment, but her sister-in-law also sent her a blanket that looked like a tortilla as a gift.

Proud mother Kathie took to Instagram to commemorate the milestone with a photo of the lovebirds in a warm embrace as she wrote:

“So thrilled to announce that my beautiful daughter, @cassidygiff, is engaged to a wonderful man, Ben @letsgetwierda, I am beyond the moon and stars.”

THE LOVELY WEDDING

About eight months after the engagement, Cassidy, and Wierda finally tied the knot in June amid the ongoing pandemic. According to reports, the lovebirds ditched their plans for a lavish ceremony and settled for something more intimate.

They exchanged vows in a lovely ceremony that took place in Wierda’s backyard at his Michigan home. A source close to the family noted that the lovebirds still plan on having the wedding of their dreams. However, that would be when it’s safe to have a large gathering.

As expected, the “Today” show host was thrilled for her daughter’s big day and shared a playful photo of her riding a tractor to prepare for the ceremony and explained in the accompanying caption that she couldn’t contain her joy.

Cassidy’s older brother Cody also walked down the aisle with his fiancée Erika Brown this year in a lovely ceremony. The duo got married in early September, and the 67-year-old television presenter was full of joy at her children’s achievements.

Although it was heartbreaking to Kathie that their father, Frank Gifford, couldn’t be present at their weddings, she believed strongly that her late husband was there in spirit and smiling down on his kids.

Frank died in August 2015, and the host has been candid about navigating life as a widow. While she hasn’t given up on love, she admitted that it would take someone exceptional to get her back in the game.
