Famous musical couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are set to go head-to-head on the upcoming season of “The Voice.” In a recent interview, Stefani revealed how competitive she was going to be against her boyfriend.

Gwen Stefani, 51, and her boyfriend Blake Shelton, 44, are going to star together as coaches on season 19 of “The Voice.” The couple will be joining Kelly Clarkson and John Legend as fellow coaches.

Currently, Shelton is the reigning champion of the musical series after winning season 18. The country musician has actually won the competition seven times by choosing winning contestants.

In an interview with “People” magazine, Stefani revealed how competitive she was going to be on the singing show. The former No Doubt member adamantly told the publication this month:

"He is so not going to win."

Stefani noted to the magazine: "Between us three, he's out. But he does have a good team, I have to say." Not willing to take Stefani’s challenge lying down, Shelton boasted that all three coaches would have to take him on in order to win.

Blake Shelton revealed that they would be going back to the format of the game they knew.

“The Voice” briefly stopped production earlier in the year due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease. The show continued its last season remotely with the coaches and the contestants taking part from their homes.

Stefani wasn’t a part of season 18 of the singing competition. When the show was given the go-ahead to resume production for season 19, she and Shelton returned to Los Angeles to start filming.

The couple had been in self-quarantine at the country musician’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. In November 2020, the famous pair will be celebrating the five-year anniversary of their relationship.

In a recent interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Shelton discussed what it felt like to have Stefani back as a coach. He shared that her return was quite comforting to all the coaches on the show.

The country music singer revealed that they would be going back to the format of the game they knew. He shared how they knew each other and that they were having a great time working together.

Sticking to COVID-19 safety protocols, the coaches will need to sit 8 ft. apart from each other. The show will also air without a studio audience but instead, they will have a virtual one to help curb the spread of the virus.

Stefani shared how the new setting was much more intimate in a way. The star also confessed that she felt she and the other coaches felt more relaxed with the brand new setup on the NBC show.

On September 11, 2020, NBC released a promotional video advertising the return of Stefani, the other coaches, and the singing competition. In the teaser, fans got to see how Shelton and Stefani interacted with each other.

Another promotional video for “The Voice” showed the four judges singing together outdoors in New York. The foursome celebrated their reunion by covering Bob Marley's "One Love" before the season premiere on October 19, 2020.
