'Duck Dynasty' Alum Sadie Roberts Details Dark COVID-19 Experience Amid Her Pregnancy

The pregnant "Duck Dynasty" alum Sadie Robertson detailed her experience with COVID-19, having contracted the virus after it spread throughout her family.

During a new episode of her podcast, "WHOA That's Good," Sadie Robertson detailed her "dark" experience with the novel coronavirus, including a symptom she hasn't heard people talking about publically.

However, before the 23-year-old mom-to-be contracted the virus, it had spread throughout her family. She had previously gotten tested, but even though it came back negative, she became weary when first her 19-year-old sister Bella, and then her mother, Korie, became sick.

HER EXPERIENCE

When Sadie's husband, Christian Huff, developed a fever, she knew that the virus had spread to their household as well. Two days later, the 23-year-old had "full-on" symptoms of COVID-19 that began with a headache.

“Like, a different kind of headache than I've ever had — it was like a migraine behind my eye. Then I got the cough; my throat was so red and on fire. It was terrible,” Sadie explained.

In addition, the pregnant reality star also experienced the loss of taste and smell, brain fog, body aches, vivid dreams, and she lamented about another symptom she hasn't heard people talk about.

THE SYMPTOM UNTALKED ABOUT

Eventually, Sadie went to the hospital when the combination of being pregnant and sick caused her to get dehydrated. Morning sickness had her vomiting constantly, and in combination with her other symptoms, it reaped havoc on her emotional well-being as well.

“All the physical pain on top of the loneliness of it, the isolation of it, makes you feel this depression that is something that I’d never experienced before,” Sadie elaborated. “I'm not going to lie. I cried a lot. It’s really a dark sickness.”

SADIE'S RECOVERY

Almost fully recovered from the virus, both mom and baby are doing well, as Sadie shared in an update on October 26. She is out of the hospital and thankful for the positive outcome.

It led to their dating after her relationship with the Disney channel star Austin North ended.

The news came less than a month after Sadie shared her pregnancy with followers on social media. Alongside a sonogram picture, the 23-year-old's caption "screamed with excitement," because the soon-to-be parents already love their first little one.

THE NEWLYWEDS

With Sadie on the mend, she can go back to being a newlywed as well. Christian Huff and Sadie Robertson tied the knot on November 25, 2019, so their first wedding anniversary is just around the corner.

The couple met in July 2018 after they started communicating via DM. Christian sent her the sweetest messages, and it led to their dating after her relationship with the Disney channel star Austin North ended. Now, they are ready to become a family of three.
