Martin Lawrence & Ex Pat Smith Post Sweet Messages in Honor of Daughter Jasmin's 25th Birthday

Martin Lawrence and his ex-wife Patricia "Pat" Smith celebrated their daughter Jasmin's birthday with special tributes and a sweet surprise. Here's how they celebrated.

Martin Lawrence and his ex-wife Patricia "Pat" Smith recently celebrated their daughter Jasmin's 25th birthday. Each of them took to Instagram to share the birthday cheer with their fans.

Smith shared a video of her daughter being surprised with a sweet birthday song serenade on Instagram. In the clip, Jasmin could not believe her eyes as she opened the door to find a beautiful cluster of custom inflatables.

As the birthday song rang in the background, the 25-year-old held her head in disbelief. It seemed like she was not expecting the surprise at all! It made her day.

"This is becoming a beautiful birthday tradition!!!" Smith gushed in the caption. She also revealed the surprise was from Jasmin's aunt Simi Singh Juneja.

In her story, Smith showed the beautiful metallic balloons as Pharrell Williams' "Happy" played in the background. Meanwhile, her ex-husband penned a beautiful tribute to the birthday girl.

Jasmin was born a year after her parents tied the knot at the Waterside Marriott Hotel in Norfolk, VA.

Taking to Instagram, Lawrence shared a couple of photos of Jasmin, one of which was from when she was a kid. In the caption, he wished her a happy birthday and wrote:

"Words can't describe how proud we all are, and we continue to be amazed at the woman you've become. May this day bring you lots of love and laughter!"

Lawrence and Smith welcomed Jasmin on January 15, 1996. It was the time when Lawrence had co-written the movie "A Thin Line Between Love & Hate" which also marked his directorial debut.

Jasmin was born a year after her parents tied the knot at the Waterside Marriott Hotel in Norfolk, VA. The wedding was attended by approximately 600 guests, including Eddie Murphy, Will Smith, Tisha Campbell, and Tichina Arnold.

After getting divorced in 1997, Lawrence went on to marry Shamicka Gibbs in 2010. Sadly, their union could not last, and the duo ended up getting divorced merely two years later.

Smith, too, moved on with her basketball star husband, Emmitt Smith. Last year, the pair decided to separate after 20 years of marriage. They have three children — sons Emmitt Smith IV and Elijah James, and daughter Skylar.
