Gladys Knight Stuns in a White Ensemble as Husband William Celebrates Their 20th Anniversary
Gladys Knight's husband, William McDowell, paid tribute to his stunning wife to commemorate their 20th wedding anniversary in a sweet Instagram post where she looked like a queen.
Time surely flies! Gladys Knight, aka the Empress of Soul, recently celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with her husband, William McDowell. They could not be any happier.
To make his queen feel special on the day, McDowell penned a heartfelt post for her on Instagram. In the photo, Knight stunned in an ornate dress embellished with sequins and beads.

The singer did justice to the slightly off-shoulder number. She wore long, dangling earrings that matched her outfit. Talking about her makeup, she leaned towards the heavier side.
Knight flaunted dark eyeshadow, false lashes, and nude lips. As usual, her pixie hair was perfectly styled. In the caption, her husband dedicated a sweet note to her.
"Happy Valentines Day # 20 in the books and counting. And they said it would never last...," McDowell wrote. The comments section was flooded by their fans' well wishes and love.
Knight and McDowell got married in a secret ceremony in 2011.
"Haters... They would watch you walk on water & say it's because you can't swim. Here's to 20 more," one fan wrote. Another one chimed in and said, "[Proved] them wrong. Haters gonna hate."
Knight and McDowell made headlines after they announced their relationship in public many years ago, mainly because of their age gap. McDowell is 14 years younger than his wife.

The lovebirds first met at the La Costa Resort and Spa, where McDowell used to work as a director. It was no love at first sight with Knight not allowing herself to be more than a good friend.
It took a long time for Knight and McDowell to decide they were perfect for each other, romantically. McDowell once shared how they were both waiting for each other to make the first move.
The rest is history. Knight and McDowell got married in a secret ceremony in 2011. They exchanged vows in the presence of 80 family members, loved ones, and close friends.
Knight was aware of all the extra attention she and her husband got, but she was happy because she had found her soulmate. It is amazing to see how the love between them has aged like fine wine.
